Honest question no trolling. How do you label them? Husband/wife? Partners? They were doing a piece on Brianna Stewart (WNBA player) and they said she a “proud wife”. Obviously she’s married to a woman. What do you call the other woman?

Partner

Wives are married to husbands. Women to men.

In a professional setting, I refer to my same sex client's other as 'spouse'. It only takes calling someone the wrong thing once to help you remember.

You don't have to label them, they'll do it for you. They like labels.
Vegans are even worse.

It's not a marriage, because marriage was created in the Bible as the formal union between man and woman.

Their godless religion of self seeks to make a mockery of an institution created by God.

I have no problem with civil unions among the homos, but calling it marriage is an affront.

Marriage wasn't a " Christian " thing for thousands of years infact it started more as a property ownership. Heterosexuals ruined the " church" vision of Marriage way before Gays got involved. Marriage is government controlled so all citizens should have the right to Marriage. If you disagree then explain who issues Marriage licenses...

My gay cousin refers to his partner as his husband, which makes me think my cousin is always on the bottom.

Which makes him a bigger embarrassment than just being a fig.

Maybe you should actually research history before posting bullshite.

Was marriage created before religion?

Marriage pre-dates Christianity by thousands of years. The Aboriginal people of Australia have a strong marriage tradition, a society that dates back at least 30,000 years.

I know a lesbian couple and one is the husband and the other is the wife. I’ve heard one refer to the other as wife in public. So, I believe that is the answer.

For gay men, I believe they use partner in many cases instead of husband and wife.

The ones I know label themselves according to their actual biology. Every woman I know, who is married to another woman, refers to herself as “wife”. Opposite for the men I know; they refer to themselves as “husband”. That’s not a large sample - maybe three pairs of each.

In agreement. From English Lords approving who could marry who, to not issuing them to interracial couples, government shouldn't be involved. Making sure you're not having kids with your first cousin is more of a family responsibility. Besides, look at how great government control of marriage licensing has worked out for Tide Pod eaters and people that love TikTok. No shortage of dumbasses.

It’s really just a contract where the parties happen to be fricking each other. A religious marriage is something quite different.

Thanks for the clarification. Not a lot of people understand that America's founding fathers secretly embraced the traditions and culture of Australian native people.

Yeah. . . Ever taken wood shop in high school?

Like a dove-tailed joint. Two pieces glued together with opposite parts.

They called it marrying a joint for a reason.

They were different.

Gay men in long-term relationships will usually use "partner." Gay men who are married usually use the same term all married men use....husband.
