He was the chapter President of the LSU Alumni Association in LA. From what he told me.
He saiid once his indentity was known on the TD things got very difficult and personal and he thought it best for him to disassociate himself from the alumni group.
He was welcome in my home though we never met in person. He was one that offered to help in my time of need and I will miss his contributions to this board.

So sad to hear this. RIP LAT.

He was a like minded poster. We agreed on many things such as our hate for Bama. Rip LAT.

He really was one of the best posters here, for whatever that's worth. Shreveport boy, too. Thanks for posting.

So sad to hear this. He was a great poster and seemed to be a great guy. Rest in peace L.A.T.

I remember Charles from Tiger Band. I had no idea this was him. If I remember him correctly he was kind of a quiet guy in practice and at the gatherings. He steered clear of us knuckleheads, but always a nice, pleasant guy to talk to. RIP Charles.

I want to pay my respects in this thread. Whether you agreed or disagreed with him, he was always dignified and honest.

Terrible news. LAT understood things many others would open do well to their eyes and see. He will be missed.

It does my heart good to see so many people saying such wonderful things about LAT. Those of us who knew him personally, know he was always quick with a laugh, a wonderfully timed barb, and figured Popeye's and vodka could cure most of what ails you.

So very sad. Based on the OP I assume he was around 50 or so. I dont mean to speculate but Ive had no less than four friends lose their fathers to heart attacks between the ages of 48 and 55 in the last two years alone. Its just too young.

Some of the things he and I agreed on! :D

I knew him a little bit. He told me he was still gay, but no longer sexually active. People may be confusing his voluntary abstinence from sex with his sexual preference.
Okay, this is the impression I got, and I find that interesting even as a topic for this board. Another interesting topic is that he had a partner and wasn't sexually active with him. I guess religious topics are no longer really welcome here, but to me, these are interesting things to discuss that touch upon religion. One thing I will say about lat is that he was open about this stuff on here. If he was as open about these views IRL, he had courage.

Just saw this referenced in the MSB for another poster who died, but wow.
I didn't always agree with his posts on here, but I know he loved LSU a ton.
RIP, LAT

I can shed some light on this as well, as this was the area of interest (LSU Alumni Groups) that brought me and Charles together.
What happened was that Afreaux, the infamous ahole that posted on TD for years, would e-stalk people here, find their identities, then stalk them in real life. Afreaux, like several others who have graced this board, was a truly sick individual who was only happy if others were as miserable as they were. Afreaux found out who Charley was, then would post personal information about him here and would also share other BS with people Charley was associating with in his alumni assocations, etc.
That drove Charley to quit working with the groups for a while, and quit posting here as frequently. It is amazing what one sick person can do.
Again, addressing the church/sexuality situation:
Was he comfortable with being gay? Yes. Was he comfortable with his religion? Yes. Was he comfortable with what gays were attempting to do while hijacking the church? No. The conflict was his "association" with both and how that was viewed by others.

That's fricking pathetic

TBH, did not know he was gay until reading this thread. Although I never questioned his comfort in his views. He definitely spoke his mind for sure.

Yes - thanks for reminding me. He showed me examples of some of the artwork he had done for movie posters. One he was really proud of - cannot remember the movie but it was a famous one.
