I answered. You don't like the answer.

I don't know which bill was the Cares Act, but I do know that 40 Republicans in the House voted no on the $2T C19 relief bill that Trump tried to get Massie primaried over.

You’re a cultist if you think Ron could have overcome that.

And you're dumb if you think that's all that matters. You're ignoring the whole run-up to the spending, as well as what many presidents are able to do - lead Republicans.

You’re reluctant to theorize that the CARES Act was a necessary evil and quite possibly even a “life saving” procedure for our economy that at the time wouldn’t be overstated to say was experiencing the onset of death throes.

It wasn’t the CARES act or nothing.

That’s an argument you created for me.

Trump was trying to get things done within the scope of his power without executive ordering his will on the people. Ron could take a lesson

It's funny. There's a thread today about virus X, and the planning the WHO is doing to take advantage of the next pandemic. Everyone is piling in to say "frick that" "never again" etc. And here we have Trump superfans defending Covid response as it was perpetrated on the country.

We’re in a DeSantis stepping down thread and you’re on about Trump. Things will never change.

Do you or any of the others have a alternative proposal as a solution that would’ve been a “better” option than the final product attributed to the Trump administration? Or is the goal simply to condemn Trump even though there be no specifics as to what and why, and what he should’ve done instead?

Read the thread. See who brought up Covid. I don't know who it was, but pretty sure it wasn't me.

What presidential power would he have had to prevent the cares act from becoming law, specifically?

How many members of congress voted against it?

Maybe put pressure on his own party to vote against it?

And if push came to shove, veto it, even if it would have been overriden? Rather than signing off on that turd that became a Keynesian starter log for the past few years' inflationary conflagration?

But hey! Enjoy that tax cut!

Easy to say in hindsight. Even Ron did exactly what fauci told him to for a while. It is ludicrous to think anyone in the whitehouse would 1) veto the act and 2) even if they did veto, would have prevented that act from becoming law.

Clearly. Doesn’t stop you from opining, though.

He stopped short of officially endorsing Trump. Just said Trump was better than Nikki and he would support the R nominee per his pledge.

He doesn't help himself with Trump supporters for 2028 at all with that statement

I thought it was the best statement he could've made. He doesn't have to slob all over Trump's knob for me. One of the best he's given IMHO.

He'll put his weight behind the nom & he knows that'll be Trump.

Now you Ron supporters, LFG. Get behind the "nominee", come 2028 the favor will be returned, & Ron will be your guy. We'll take this fricking country back. But call & tell Ron to leave the RINO's alone.

And that congress was nearly unanimous. The goal is simply Orange man bad.

Dave, considering what we know now that we didn’t know then, our real world experience with the same scenario that we were completely devoid of back then…….of course it would be unforgivable negligence to follow the exact same game plan. That should go without saying.

Yes. Targeted spending aimed at the medical community which would have to actually deal with Covid.

Don’t give $10B to Pharma companies.

Don’t give billions to schools to shut down.

The trillions in spending facilitated the shutdown. Not vice versa. Until you can get a hold of that, nothing is going to make sense.
