Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, indicated Saturday that he is "likely" to vote to call witnesses in Trump's impeachment trial, but would not commit to doing so just yet.

"I think it's very likely I'll be in favor of witnesses but I haven’t made a decision finally yet and I won't until" arguments on both sides are done, Romney told reporters after the first day of Trump's defense, according to CNN.

Romney's office confirmed his comments to NBC News.

I'm not sure who I believe more: Him, or our intelligence agencies. He made his mind up on witnesses before this trial ever started.

If Romney votes only for witnesses for the plaintiff and doesn’t vote for defense witnesses, I will personally travel to Utah to campaign for a primary challenger

I really wish he and Joe Manchin would trade political parties. Both would be where they belong

He was always going to call for witnesses. Romney would crawl over glass to improve the Dems chances in November.

Who knew? His loss in 2012 was totally for the best.

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes, well, you just might find
You get what you need

Wasn't Romney's son in on some deals with Crackhead? I know Kerry's was but it seems Romeny was involved as well.

How does that play into this? It seems he would want this to go away.

You'd think he'd want to wait until after the defense if finished with its open first.

Romney is as bad as Obama. So glad I didn't cast a vote for either.

I'd suggest everyone watch the CNN clip of Romney's comments that are referenced. I believe CNN has, as usual, blatantly misquoted and taken his remarks out of context. In fact, I took from it that he while he's interested in what Bolton would have to say, he is AGAINST any current amendments being proposed to the rules resolution providing for witnesses. But would revisit after arguments. And he dressed down the Democrats for all their outrage. That they've over-outraged.
