I was confused by this until I realized that you meant “celebrating” his death. Yeah, you’re right. There will be some, because we have our nuts, but like JD Vance pointed out recently, they have about four or five times the nuts that we do.

Is it bad that I take a modicum of delight knowing that he went to his grave with Trump as his President?

CNN

quote:

Another four years of this would degrade our country beyond repair.

The toll it’s taking is almost biblical: fires and floods, a literal plague upon the land, an eruption of hatred that’s being summoned and harnessed, by a leader with no conscience or shame.

Four more years would accelerate our slide toward autocracy. It would be taken as free license to punish more so-called “traitors” and wage more petty vendettas – with the full weight of the Justice Department behind them.

Four more years would mean open season on our environmental laws. The assault has been ongoing – it started with abandoning the historic agreement that the world made in Paris to combat climate change, and continued, just last month, with using the pandemic as cover to let industries pollute as they see fit.

Four more years would bring untold damage to our planet – our home.

America is still a world power. But in the past four years, it has lost its place as a world leader. A second term would embolden enemies and further weaken our standing with our friends.

quote:

Without a moral compass in the Oval Office, our country is dangerously adrift.

But this November, we can choose another direction.

This November, unity and empathy are on the ballot. Experience and intelligence are on the ballot.

Joe Biden is on the ballot, and I’m confident he will bring these qualities back to White House.

See leftist? This is how we respond when someone from the other side of politics dies. We don't celebrate it. We acknowledge that we had different views, but that he was also a very good actor. Try to learn.

But I know that you can't and I'm just wasting my time trying to tell you

Why are liberals/hollywood stars so bat shite crazy and hate conservatism?

The weaker the person the more left they are. Hollywood is full of soft aZZ panzies who couldn't complete a day of work at a mill or construction site if their life depended on it. They are literally deceitful liars, the weakest of the weak.

When folks make millions of dollars and have adoring fans for playing dress-up and make-believe it kind of warps their sense of reality.

As an actor, his biggest films included “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (1969), with its loving look at rogues in a dying West, and “All the President’s Men” (1976), about the journalistic pursuit of President Richard M. Nixon in the Watergate era. In “Three Days of the Condor” (1975) he was an introverted C.I.A. codebreaker caught in a murderous cat-and-mouse game. “The Sting” (1973), about Depression-era grifters, gave Mr. Redford his first and only Oscar nomination as an actor. [b]Would also add “The Natural” (1984)

His activism is pretty mild for these times. Campaign finance reform and environmentalism are barely a blip with the wild left these days. I'll overlook his politics on his passing.

I took advantage of a opportunity to briefly meet him in Park City in the early 2000's through a friend that was working on the Sundance Festival. He was very pleasant and down to earth. He certainly didn't have a movie star attitude. All in a all, a nice guy and solid actor.

RIP

Robert Redford died. May he Rest In Peace.

I did not agree with his politics, was not a fan, and did not care for most of his movies, EXCEPT, Jeremiah Johnson, absolutely loved that movie and he did a great job.

Even though he was an insufferable liberal I never hated him.

That's all the left had to do with Charlie Kirk, and they just couldn't help themselves.

Of particular interest to the Poli board...

Redford played the son of a politician (former California governor) who was talked into running senator of California despite having no political experience. No one really thought he could win as he was running against an entrenched incumbent, but then somehow managed to beat the incumbent. It was an okay movie. It had plenty of cameos including Natalie Wood (a really good friend of Redford's). It also starred Peter Boyle, who I learned later was a huge, HUGE Hollywood liberal.

I was a fan of The Electric Horseman. Good movie if you love horses. Why do so many liberal Hollywood elites make movies that only red blooded Americans can appreciate?

RIP Jeremiah Johnson.
