Oh I don't doubt that people like yourself will vote for him....my contention is that he doesn't deserve it and he will basically end up being more years of JBE....you think Cassidy is the governor that will get constitutional carry though....real tort reform....real abortion reform....real election integrity protection????
Hell no he won't.

The best thing Cassidy can do for himself and Louisiana voters is keep his mouth shut, not run for reelection, quietly finish his last Senate term and then go make his millions on K street in 2027 for a sweet retirement.
He voted yes to the impeachment thing for attention. He knew it would fail. So he got to go on CNN and claim to be a moderate, when he’s really a self interested jellyfish.
Do you honestly think his fricking ego is going to let him keep his mouth shut?
I think he’s working with Mann in a reverse Dick Morris situation. And what he was thinking when he voted against Trump was “I’ll get JBE’s voters and be governor.” There was really no other benefit to be gained by voting to remove someone from
Office who was no longer in office. It was a stupid fricking showboat move calculated to piss off Trump voters and curry favor with opinion less so-called moderates that he needs to win an election.

Landry is going to run on/against the COVID measures. He's going to point out Cassidy's op-ed's supporting vaccine passports. He will vilify Cassidy at every turn. He will rightfully label Cassidy as being a Washington politician.

Wouldn't this be the death knell for Cassidy's campaign?
No. But it would be a death knell for Landry’s campaign in a runoff btwn Landry and

Nobody's buying this shite. People see through RINOs a lot more than anyone on the left is willing to admit. To the left, this news is like candy to them.
The author is a Mann in name only.

If he gets that message across prior to the jungle primary and has support at the state level then maybe he has a chance.
His goose is cooked if he is in a runoff against Cassidy. Cassidy will get every D vote and probably 35-40% of the R vote....which equals a huge W.

He showed that he has principles that are lacking in others.

Do not underestimate the devotion of the Masked Covidians to vaccine. Landry battling the vaccine is popular on the PoliBoard but not necessarily among everyone in the state.
I’d rather see Landry run on getting fed involvement out of the issue and eliminating the Democommunists running state gvt currently. And I never liked Cassidy.
To clarify - I’m not saying I WANT him to be Governor- I’m saying he could win. And he could certainly beat another Republican if he was R v R In the general.
No way Mann just randomly publicly stated this. He’s working with Cassidy and that’s the plan

I never had any respect for JBE in the first place as I knew he was a partisan liberal selling a snake oil fantasy that was never ever going to be reality. Anyone that adores Huey Long and Edwin Edwards is a piece of shite. If you couldn’t recognize that at the time, then you’re definitely not the best political handicapper around. Far from it.
And the predictions of Vitter voters including me were making about JBE being a disciple of Huey Long and Edwin Edwards and would wind up being one of the worst Governors ever in Louisiana history were absolutely well founded and turned out to be correct.
Republicans for JBE were dead wrong about him and don’t even have the decency to apologize and admit they fricked up. They just hide like cowards.

Behold Baws. A Democrat Cassidy voter.
It’s hilarious to me that this was your response to my pointing out that this “principle” was really virtue signaling addressed to people just like you.
Congratulations on your brainwashing. It is apparently complete.

If Cassidy is in contention for the runoff going into the primary I may well vote for the actual Dem just to try to keep him out. It all depends on how the late polling looks.

If you stupid fricks vote that POS Cassidy in as Governor

I think that Cassidy is banking on the fact that there are no viable Democrat candidates - and that there won’t be a Democrat in the runoff.
It’s essentially the same strategy Vitter deployed - just get into the runoff so go scorched earth on the other Rs, and then he’ll be able to beat a Democrat.
This time- there are no JBE style Democrats left. He’s the last white Democrat in the state and certainly the last one that would publicly admit he opposes abortion.
So - if he can get in a runoff against a Republican, he thinks he can take him.
In a Cassidy v. Nungesser runoff, for example, it would be FASCINATING to see who Kennedy endorsed.
Just sayin. . .

The bottom line with the jungle primary is what it always is....if the GOP/people want a R candidate to be the governor they need to coalesce around that person before the jungle primary.
This bullshite of pitting Rs against each other in debates, commercials, town halls, etc needs to stop in this state.
If it doesn't you will get either a weak candidate in the runoff like Vitter (he became weak during the election because of the state GOP and the other R candidates) or Rispone who can't beat the well backed single D candidate like JBE.

Wishcasting.
If Cassidy runs he will carve the squishies away from the DNC and position a smart trumpist to win handily.

This is revisionism.
On top of not anticipating the threat JBE would pose in the runoff, Vitter lost 2015 because the other two republican candidates gave bipartisan flavor to a sex scandal and even claimed at one point Vitter killed the hookers he was sleeping with. They effectively gave a permission structure to GOP voters to buy into the fantasy JBE was selling.
If it was only JBE bringing it up, nobody would’ve cared because negative partisanship would’ve made sure it was not successful. The democrat in the 2010 senate race repeatedly brought it up and it didn’t even make a dent and Vitter won comfortably.
Dardenne and Angelle damaged the GOP’s standing in the Governor’s race running a scorched earth campaign against the front runner they had no hope of winning and indeed did not win.
And we’re suffering for it now.
