Hmmm as soon as USAID disappears a flood of right wing candidates win down there
For those that don't know, Peru has a very large Japanese immigrant community, so much so that one of their most famous cuisines is Japanese/Peruvian fusion.
She is the daughter of a former very prominent and notorious Peruvian politician from what I understand

Yes, Nikkei cuisine is an essential part of peruvian cooking. Its even become a part of japanese restaurant culture, aka tiradito and things like that on sushi menus

Peru’s independent civil rights office briefly escalated anxieties by calling the irregularities an “attempted fraud” before reversing course hours later to say that the flawed ballots had affected only about 20 polling booths nationwide with no adverse impact on the vote.
Seeking to project an image of control at a Sunday afternoon news conference, Peru’s top electoral officials rejected the possibility of systematic fraud and said a handful of isolated irregularities had been quickly resolved.

I’m always dubious at a “far-right” label.
Like, what is her platform?

Well her dad fit that bill and I believe she champions some of his policies. In general seems like an awesome candidate.
