It's what started the whole transaction, and it's what the protesters are constantly complaining about.
I thought it was about the unnecessary deaths of black men at the hands of police officers.

Friend got a DUI on a bike in college. They lowered it to MIP after he lawyered up.

I got a warning ticket for speeding on my bike a month ago (35 in a 25)
You are required to follow traffic laws while riding a bike

Exactly what are you basing this on?? Did CNN or Facebook say this or have you seen a video?
Seriously, do you really think a cop shot a guy just because he dropped a handful of clothes and a gun fell out?
In fact, how about you post a video this year of a cop that just walked up and shot a black guy for no reason at all. Just shot someone that was obeying 100%.
I'll wait....

Cops using BS laws as pretense to pull over a black man. When's the last time you heard of a white person getting pulled over for something like this, on his bike?
Since they don't usually end up in a shooting, almost never.
Also, quit blaming cops for horseshite laws! Your state legislature and local councils enact them. Blame them.

Sheriff’s Lt. Brandon Dean said Monday evening that two deputies from the South Los Angeles station were driving on Budlong Avenue at 3:15 p.m. when they spotted a man riding his bicycle in violation of vehicle codes. Dean said he didn’t know which vehicle codes the man allegedly broke.

If you punch a cop, you are going to likely get tased or hit back. And I am 100 percent ok with that.

In doing so, the man dropped a bundle of clothing he had been carrying. The deputies spotted a black handgun in the bundle, Dean said, and both opened fire, killing the man. No deputies were injured.
So the cops opened fire after the man dropped his gun? He wasn't reaching for it?
This is why people protest.
1) Cops using BS laws as pretense to pull over a black man. When's the last time you heard of a white person getting pulled over for something like this, on his bike?
2) Shooting a guy who dropped his weapon and was making no attempt to grab it or another weapon?
It's crazy, though, how this only happens in liberal-run cities. Down here in the "racist south", we don't seem to have these issues.
Dude, you are a bitch just like the protestors. Stop jumping to conclusions. It was an initial statement.
And just FYI, you have to abide by all traffic laws when in the street with a bike. This includes stop signs and vehicle direction. Could have been a multitude things.

I used to stop them all the time in the city I worked.
Blowing through red lights and stop signs etc. Ended up with some pretty decent stops out of it too bc nobody looks at bicyclists.

So the police should wait until the criminal starts shooting then return fire. Do you think this is Hollywood. If I'm a police officer, I want to go home to my family at the end of my day. If the criminals weren't assholes they would be sent on their way most of the times. The last thing the police want to do is interact with them.

Just because you don't hear about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Go to Lafourche Parish, they are constantly jacking up white meth heads on bikes that are stealing shite.
LPSO Catches Burglar on Bike for Improper Equipment
quote:
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of a Galliano man after deputies discovered him in possession of over $4,000 of merchandise allegedly stolen from vehicle burglaries. Sean Martin (W/M, D.O.B. 03/24/91) of 148 West 163rd Street has been linked to three burglaries, and deputies believe additional charges will be forthcoming.
At around 2:30 a.m., patrol deputies were traveling on LA Highway 1 in Cut Off when they noticed a man riding a bicycle without proper equipment. The male subject, who was later identified as Sean Martin, also appeared to increase his speed as he pedaled away from the patrol unit. Deputies then pulled up to and made contact with the subject who initially gave deputies a false name. After being unable to find any records on the subject, deputies again asked the subject about his identity, and the subject gave a new name which also later turned out to be false. The subject had a backpack in his possession and voluntarily consented to a search of the bag. Upon searching the backpack, deputies discovered a number of various items including assorted electronic equipment, sunglasses, loose change, and other items. When asked about the contents of the bag, the subject changed his story several times. Deputies took Martin into custody and transported him to the South Lafourche Sub-Station. Upon arrival, deputies began looking at the items, including a digital camera. Upon looking at the photos stored in the camera, deputies discovered a name on one of the photos and looked up the name on Facebook. In doing so, deputies discovered pictures on a Facebook page matching those on the camera, helping them identify the owner. They further noticed a subject in a photo wearing sunglasses matching one of the pairs found in the backpack. Deputies then made contact with the female subject at a West 164th Street residence believed to be the camera?s owner, and she identified several items found in the backpack as belonging to her. Deputies located two other property owners in similar circumstances and learned the items had been stored in their vehicles.
And you only hear about it when something goes wrong. Maybe more evidence that certain segments of some cultures don't obey the law, are more violent, and resist the police more.

It doesn't seem unofficial that the guy was stopped because of riding a bike in violation of official codes...
Because a bike on a busy road impedes traffic and is a danger to both the rider and the automobiles.
This isn’t hard.

White people do get pulled over on bikes. We know if a cop sees us running a stop sign or breaking any other road law (a bike is considered a motorized vehicle in most states) we can get pulled over. I know several white cyclist who have gotten ticketed and pulled over. There’s a well known area here in Katy where cops sit and watch just for cyclist running stop signs. The pull over all types of ethnic groups.
It’s always funny how people think white people don’t have to follow the law. What a bunch of crap.
