Why choose to poke a finger in the eye of the American people and not resign earlier when she knew she didn't have long to live. Of course we know why, but she must have hated America. Resign and give the president time to get a justice on the court before the new term in October. I don't want to die on my job...

She must have had a deal with the Clintons to hand pick a successor. She’s looked like hell for years, so I can’t imagine a reason why she wouldn’t have retired during Obama’s term other than pure narcissism.

She may have also been in complete denial about her situation.
A relative of mine who died battled cancer over the course of about 5 years. Even near the end, suffering from an inoperable brain tumor, they were convinced that they would live for years and made bad decisions because they were making future plans that were never going to happen.

Ehh, Thomas is getting up there in age, but he doesn’t have any real serious health issues as I’m aware. It’s not a decent comparison until he starts coming down with serious life threatening/possibly debilitating maladies and still insists on hanging on.

it was an incredibly selfish and narcissistic move.
Scalia dying might have given her pause in 2016, but after that, I'm sure she thought Hillary would win.

I think she has probably been on a ventilator for months and they took her off here at the end to create chaos in an attempt to skew the election. These are very bad people we have allowed to become powerful in this nation. We are losing this nation and violence will eventually ensue!
