It’s amazing how many people still have such an antiquated view of the Japanese.
The Japanese today and the Japanese in Peleliu in ‘44 are not the same.

Japan should deport the Muslims to their homeland of the UK

Could you expand?? I'm sure they've evolved somewhat, but saying a culture thousands of years old has completely changed in the last 80 seems a lot more radical than thinking they haven't changed

It is amazing that you do not appreciate the Japanese culture, history, and pride that they cherish. That is why they are basically eradicating Muslim culture from their homeland. I applaud their dedication and patriotism.

Surprised they allowed them in considering they have the most strict immigration policy in the world.

Let one of their wealthier families know you have one of their grandfather's swords from WWII and get back to me.

I appreciate Japanese people and their culture tremendously. I'm certainly no expert, but after ten years of living there, learning their language and working amongst them, I feel like I have a pretty good understanding on how they feel on certain topics.
I think your modern-day Japanese are proud of their culture, but they certainly aren't blindly running empty-handed into machine gun pits circa 1944 like someone suggested. That's silly. The impact of the war with the United States and those two atom bombs changed their culture like you wouldn't believe. They've been completely cuckolded by the Yanks. Trust me, there are some that would love to evict the American military and revoke Article 9, but we won't let that happen for another couple of generations at least.

Japan shouldn’t have let any Muslims in, that is always mistake 1

Brave says to question of "are current Japanese men softer than 100 years ago?"...
quote:
Yes, current Japanese men are generally perceived as "softer" than men from 100 years ago, reflecting a significant shift from the rigid, hierarchical masculinity of the early 20th century to the more emotionally expressive and aesthetically focused ideals of the modern era.
Historical Context: A century ago (1920s), masculinity was closely tied to militarism, nationalistic power, and stoic sacrifice, with men expected to suppress emotional displays and prioritize corporate or state loyalty above individual well-being.
Modern Shift: Contemporary masculinity has evolved into a spectrum that includes the "Herbivore Man" (Soushoku Danshi), who is characterized by gentleness, emotional maturity, and a focus on grooming rather than aggressive dominance.
Cultural Drivers: This change is driven by women’s increasing financial independence, which has shifted partner preferences toward kindness and compatibility over traditional "provider" status, and a post-war societal move away from toxic, hyper-masculine ideals.
Visual & Social Changes: The modern ideal often embraces androgyny and "bishonen" (beautiful boy) aesthetics, where men openly express affection, engage in childcare, and prioritize personal interests, contrasting sharply with the "Showa Strongman" archetype of the past.
Americans, Europeans, have experinced the same above to some degree. We can easily see American men are much softer than we were 100 years ago.
I'll add that women are playing a larger influential role in Japanese society and politics. Let's see if women of Japan are willing to take the leash off their whipped men and encourage them to do what needs to be done.

Islam is evil and should not be allowed in the US. It will be interesting to see how Japan reacts if Islamic tension rises there.

One thing some of you guys aren’t apparently taking into account is these aren’t really Middle Eastern Muslims per say.
The Japanese aren’t idiots. They understand that they are very top heavy and don’t have enough young people to support the population. This is at crisis level.
So they’ve had to allow in low income workers from places like Indonesia (87% Muslim), Malaysia (65%) and the Philippines which is about 10%. The question is, how do you manage the number of Islamic immigrants.
Back in the 1990’s, Japan allowed a large number of Iranians into the country to fill much needed vacancies in the construction industry. They were brought in on temporary work visas and a large number were sent home. But I remember they were the guys to go to back then for illegal phone cards in Shibuya. Not sure if THOSE guys are still around.

Off topic but the Unitarian organization being considered a church is about as accurate as describing Home Depot as a restaurant.

This was my first thought. It's probably not a bunch of Arab muslins running around.

Look for some Japanese accounts on X now that auto translate is a thing, and read some of their thoughts, you'd be surprised, and it's from young people. They are vehemently anti Muslim, and they're not shy about it.
Does that mean they're holing themselves up in a cave and emerging to cut throats at night? No, but that same sentiment just got them a kick arse PM to get this stuff fixed.

The two worst cancers on the global population today are Liberalism and Islam.
We as a human society can survive anything else but these two will destroy the whole world.

It’s the number 1.15, which is Japan’s birth rate in number of children per woman.

80 years ago Japan’s birthrate was 3.37. Yes, their culture changed tremendously. They no longer revere an empower. They are a democracy now. Women have rights equal to men. And all castes are equal if not completely eliminated.

Fair enough, I can't argue with that one. We've had great excess in the 2020s, I just hope we don't repeat the next decades of the 100 year cycle
