I can’t remember if Behind Enemy Lines was based on a true story or not. I was thinking it was. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong. Bat 21 was based on a true story I know for sure. It was a pretty good movie.

It’s sad the F-14 is gone. The second Top Gun movie just didn’t work as well in my opinion because the Super Hornet is a cool plane but it just doesn’t have that badass look like the F-14 had.

Still unconfirmed but several sources are claiming we have.

Sere school he is used as a glowing example of what not to do from the time his canopy closed to the time he was picked up.

Just an ai except of what is taught at sere school about him:

Ultimately, the consensus within the military training community is that while O'Grady survived against great odds, his experience demonstrated the need for strict adherence to protocols, and it serves as a "lessons learned" scenario to improve future aircrew training.

I can see that. I do remember the book mentioning him moving too far away from his crash site and some issues early on with his comms. There were some hearings afterward that stated he did everything with his comms by the book. But I wouldn't think they would want to drag a guy, publicly, for his frickups when he was painted as a hero.

I appreciate you letting me know about the actual teachings based on his incident. I may go read the book again in a new light and see what is being painted in a good light for a "hero". It has been a while anyway.

Seeing multiple people now reporting that Iranian civilians are blocking IRGC forces from getting to the area where they are extracting our guy.

Could that just be them all congregating on the street?

How would they all be able to collude and block the IRGC when they have no cellular due to the imposed internet blackout?

They have been using starlink since this stuff began. How else do you think the videos are getting out at all?

They have a history of doing this too (clogging the streets to impede the IRGC).

Any Irgc who were prevented by joining the fight by the crowd, probably had their life saved.

Right. As I understand it this is happening in a sort of remote area. All those cars out stopping in the street appear to be civilians clogging the roads. The people making their way through on motorcycles are Basij forces in plain clothes.
