What are people doing now to be ready for the coming recession?

We'll just be going fewer places, eating out less and buying fewer things.

Food prices are going to skyrocket so I'll be stocking up on canned food and such, enough for a solid year. Over the next month I'll probably buy a decent amount of ground beef to freeze.

I'm holding my investment cash for when the market takes a biiig dump. It wouldn't shock me to see the Dow hit at least 23 or 24 by the end of the year.

Has there been a more disastrous presidency than the current one? We have a War in Europe, recession, inflation out the wazoo, gas prices getting higher and higher, North Korea is playing with rockets again, our southern border is wide open. all kinds of shortages, etc, etc. We appear to be in deep shat. /smdh
you say that as if you don't realize it's all planned. The war is completely phony.

And if you went back and examined what we said here about Biden's handling of Covid/Stimulus etc you would find 90% of posters predicted an inflationary nightmare that would lead to a recession. This is not rocket science, it's second year college economics. And yet, if you go to our gaslighting media or to the More Sports- OTlevel- idiotarian drive-by posters, this is almost like a comet, it's so unpredictable. Prolly Trump did it because somebody wouldn't bake a cake for a transexual or something.

I’m thankful that I have a job that will likely last through a recession.

But I’ll be ratcheting up charitable donations in gratitude for what I have, and recognition that others aren’t doing well.

And the irony is that the answers are so very basic that a third grader could understand!

Democratic liberal policies never worked, never will.

Im not sure if I’ll lose my job or not but I am in construction. Thing is we have a lot of government housing jobs already started and coming in the near future. Last time it was these jobs that kept us from going under. Still makes me worry.

My job is as recession proof as it gets. If some some reason they do a cutback in military then I would just be retired.

You must not remember the Reduction In Force under Obama. I knew a lot of people cut from the military

What you have to understand about the government is they plan the future of the country in 50 year increments.

We have a least two generations that have never "felt" higher interest rates. Gen X heard about them, and the Millennials don't have any idea what high interest rates are...

And there are articles that say that Credit Card debt is rising significantly across the nation.

The recession is already here. Hyperinflation will be settling in by Christmas, and we'll likely have some sort of coup, civil war, or revolution on our hands by the following Christmas. Countries tend to go into hyperinflation and come out as failed states or as very different regimes.

The only hedges against hyper-inflation are to hoard real-estate and raw materials (food, fertilizer, iron ore, aluminum, rare earth metals, coal, oil, natural gas, etc). Guess what blackrock and elite folks like Bill Gates have been buying up for the past 2 years? They're hoarding farmland, fertilizer, and single-family homes, and going into massive debt to do so because they know those fixed rate loans will be very easy to pay back as the currency goes poof.

So, if you've got some stability, use the low interest rates to get fixed rate mortgages on productive farmland or timberland and hold onto those natural resources because they're about to be worth several times their current value.

Have you ever looked at hyperbaric medicine for her brain injury? It can make a world of difference. There’s an increase in brain volume, regrowth, and the metabolism in damaged regions normalizes.
