Making parents an interest group and then blasting that interest group might be the worst political strategy of all time. They are saying “we know better than parents”
If republicans can’t seize this sheer stupidly and wreck the dems in the midterms and the next election, we need to shut the party down. This is the only issue I would run on. Make every dem all the way down to the ones running for dog catcher answer on this issue.

By definition these are public schools, i.e. publicly funded and regulated education centers. The State which pays the cost and created the legislative framework for the operation of the school as a function of their representative role for the citizens of the State absolutely has a right, nay, an obligation to put in place any rules and regulations that the citizens request. If they are overstepping their Constitutional bounds, then the Court will restrict portions or all of the bill.
