I could keep him alive for quite some time while I administered the most painful and sadistic tortures I could dream up on him. He'd certainly be violated in the most degrading and degenerate ways possible. After that I'm not so sure. I'd have to think about it, but that's how I'd like to start if that helps you out any.

I would intently listen to the evidence both sides, wait for jury instructions. Unless there is a sentencing hearing, the judge typically makes the decision on punishment. Has he been convicted or are you just anticipating the verdict?

But to answer your question, If I was on a jury and a father of a daughter hunted down and killed the person who violated his daughter. And it was clearly understood he got the right person, everyone knew it was the guy... not guilty

I just don't like Louisianas procedures in the courtroom.
This question shouldn't be dependent if the victim is someone close to you, but I digress.
Either way, I do believe it's better for a hundred guilty men to walk free, than to have one innocent man jailed. The system is supposed to be set up to give the defendant every bit of the doubt. I do not believe it is, in Louisiana.

But honestly, I would kill him before the trial. There is ZERO doubt. I'm not as strong as most that can sit thru a trial like that. But I'm am violent enough to do away with the perp.

The maximum punishment allowable.
In reality, they should be hung from the nearest tree. I don’t believe in “life imprisonment”. Why should we, as tax payers, pay to support someone for an entire lifetime because they can’t rejoin society? That’s a waste. What is the value of allowing them to live? If they have no value to society due to violent tendencies, then kill them. At one point we hung horse thieves. One could argue that was excessive, but society has evolved too far in the opposite direction. We allow people to continue to live that most certainly should be exterminated.
As a juror, all you can do is what the law allows. No mercy should be shown.

Yours is an inappropriate question. The opinion of someone who is emotionally involved is irrelevant. It is for the rest of us, of sober minds, to decide these things.
That said, rape is a particularly heinous crime, but there are degrees of rape. Was it violent? Did the perpetrator rely on force to commit it? These days a very persuasive player can be accused of rape.
I’ll assume it was a violent rape. A lifetime at hard labor would be my answer, even if it was your daughter instead of mine.

The thing you have consider in this case is the recidivism rate in sexual assault cases. If you search online, they will say it’s low. Which is just not true. They are addicted to be freaks. Need to throw the book at him.
