My understanding is that a juror takes an oath to not discuss any aspect of the case outside of Court. Your post discusses punishment (an aspect of the case) outside of Court. In a very literal sense, you are violating your oath as a juror, and violating the law.

This question is a lot easier to answer if you've never sat on a jury trial in Louisiana.

I have two daughters. I sat on a criminal jury involving aggravated crimes against nature, indecent behavior with a juvenile, and pornography involving a juvenile.

Dude was guilty af. But neither that, nor having daughters, made it any easier for me to convict. This state has some flaws in how it conducts trials.

Victim and/or family should decide the punishment. All possibilities should be on the table.

If you are really sitting on a jury right now and discussing the case here, you better hope the defense attorney doesn’t find this thread.

It would pretty much guarantee a guilty verdict is thrown out and the whole thing has to be done all over again.
