That’s a shot at Trump by taking a cheap shot at Bondi.

So what? OP said he didn't talk about the Clintons, and he clearly did, even saying they think they are above the law, which they do.

Thinking that Massie is a closet democrat is full retard.

Massie -- That's the love child of Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, right?

Yep. Massie is just another TDS infected loser. He hasn’t named names like he said he would.
So Massie hasn't named names, he's a TDS infected loser.
Trump hasn't released the files like he said he would. He's your cult leader.

Got it.

Stupid post.

Ideologically, what does Massie and Liz Cheney/Adam Kinzinger actually agree on? If you are right, you should find many things.

Thank you for pointing me to the letter. now that I know you need a kudos I will be happy to provide.

Two things I noticed in the letter. 1). They said there are “potentially” 2 million documents that need to be reviewed.

2). The explanation for the delay is perfectly reasonable.

Don’t you agree?

If compliance with the law were beyond the ability of the DOJ, Bondi and Blanche should have advised their boss of that BEFORE he signed Massie's bill into law.

I don’t disagree. If a law has impossible requirements what is to be done? If Congress passed a bill requiring you to have the ability to fly…what would you do.

He waited 24 hours and was getting smacked online. I don’t know when the OP posted and when Massie posted. Don’t really care enough to look into it.

I don’t think that. I just think he cares more about OMB than actual issues. Why hasn’t he named names like he said he would? If he actually cared he would. Instead he chooses to go after Trump. Who signed his bill.

Stop being a moron ivory

Stop calling me a moron just because we have a difference of opinion.

It used to be a solidly conservative position to want complete transparency regarding Epstein. The sweetheart deal and Acosta's reported statement that Epstein "worked for intelligence" fit with the conservative idea that there is a Deep State which hijacks "our" government for its own purposes often at the expense of the American people.

Part of Trump's appeal is the hope that he is fighting the Deep State. It seemed odd that he would oppose full release of the Epstein files. We knew he wasn't implicated in them, or else that would have been leaked by the Autopen masters to prevent his election in 2024.

Massie's bill was an attempt to get full release of the files. Yes, Massie's bill left some discretion to Bondi, but why would that be bad? From the beginning of Trump 2.0, Bondi had been bragging about how much work she had been doing to release the files.

Finally, President "Trump posted on Truth Social, reversing his stance, writing that 'House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files ... it's time to move on from this Democrat Hoax.'"

Massie was actually giving President Trump the opportunity to put the issue behind him. For whatever reason, the DOJ has ignored the law in several important ways. The sooner they comply, the better for the Republicans politically...and some bad people might actually be exposed.

Bondi's discretion isn't unfettered. There is specific guidance in Massie's law.

Ultimately, some of the redactions and refusals to produce could lead to criminal contempt of court findings. It doesn't seem that the DOJ has their best and brightest working on this (see victims' information left unredacted in the first batch.) If
Judge Engelmayer appoints a Special Master in this case, this is going to blow up in the DOJ's face rapidly and tarnish some senior officials.

It's so weird. EVERY discussion is forensic and to the death with some people here. An admission that you made a mistake or changed your mind based on better information is considered a Cardinal sin by some.

Why can't we just have a discussion of issues and information without the personal attacks?

Personally, I'm not here to win friends or make enemies...or to "be right" about something. I'm just here to learn.

Yes. We agree. My fragile sense of self worth has been restored:) Cheers

At this point, maybe it would be best for "Congress" to provide some guidance on priorities. For instance, start with the final investigative reports. Show us how the DOJ decided NOT to charge Bill Richardson for instance.

This thread was started before Massie’s tweet. If it had been Trump he would’ve fired a tweet out yesterday.

Massie isn't being vindictive towards President Trump. He has said over and over that he doesn't think Trump is implicated in the files.

Massie created his bill to give Trump a political black eye and as retribution for Trump tweeting about him not voting for the MAGA agenda.

The issue was never that Massie thought Trump was implicated.

Better than being a sycophant , but I digress

You have been asked multiple times "what is the penalty for non compliance"

You must know that a lae without a penalty is basically for show - we have some in Florida

A court cannot force legal compiance without a penalty - seems like it was all for show
