You seem to think Islam and communism are philosophically at odds with each other. They aren't, and their shared anti-western sentiment is the basis of a strong relationship.
"Red Green Axis" refers to two books written about the subject. There's no point in 'breathing' if you're just sniffing your own farts.

They are. Socialism coexists well with Islam, but Communism would extinguish Islam.

So, it's not a philosophical alliance. It's more of a partnership of those with the same goal. Although if you squint real hard, one of the pillars of islam fits well into the 'from those according to their abilities. . .' ideology.

THAT is a ridiculous statement. If you left out “merely” it would be correct, but socialism is a thing apart from Communism, even though it is used by communism.
There is no socialism in completed communism, since there is no government. And non-communist states have implemented socialism (Sweden in the 1990s and the UK in the 1970s).
Your second paragraph is correct.
