Social issues do matter.

The "family card" is waaay overrated IMO. All manner of reprobates can claim "family values."

He got the Jerry Falwell Jr endorsement. That’s what won them over. They got their SCOTUS and Dobbs, but DeSantis is gambling on them being tired of the personal baggage, the dissing of the pro-life movement in the mid-term losses, and the fact that DeSantis has appointed very, very conservative judges in Florida. He is offering them a rock solid alternative to the drama and escapades of Trump.
BTW, Jerry Falwell Jr was disgraced in a sex scandal, and there’s serious talk that Trump had dirt on that and that was why Falwell went with Trump.

I tend to agree with you. College educated whites make up 28% of the electorate, roughly the same amount as all non-whites. College educated whites went 46% to Obama in 2012, 50% to Clinton in 2016, and 54% to Biden. College educated white women went 58% for Biden. If Trump would have captured held demographic at even 2016 levels, he would have won in 2020.

Trump is not even as flawed as David was, and has fought relentlessly for my family's core vlues. Ron is aligned with the same people that have fought against me. For decades. And whether they come out and "endorse" Ron, they all want him in the race to weaken Trump
