Capital Punishment already existed before Trump. The method of firing squad or lethal injection isn't important. What's important is the time frame. Today it's:
Bob: "I'm gonna kill Jack"
Frank: "Don't do it. You'll get arrested, convicted and they will execute you in about 40 years after appeals."
Bob: "I'll be 90 by then."
Frank: "Oh, well, hmmm...Go ahead and kill Jack."

I wonder if the pope considers he wouldn’t even have a job if not for the death penalty?

This is a common misconception about the Catholic Church and Popes… in history Popes have spoken twice from a position of infallibility (ex cathedra) both times had to do with Mary (immaculate conception and her assumption)

Lots of Catholics getting abortions and still being allowed to stay in the church.

Lots of dim Catholics in D.C. back abortions.

Another form of murder.

I didn’t comment on anything other than the low T prots once again whining about the Pope.

I see exactly what you were doing. You were whining about other people whining. Pretty thoughtful strategy. Then you whined again. All I did was make a facetious post that clearly should’ve not been taken any more seriously than such.

So are we going to talk about the Dem party's influence on what this pope is saying now?

Protestant Trump supporters when they find out the Pope believes in forgiveness and redemption:

That’s how we end up with dead teenagers in the mall food court. Some people can’t be redeemed.

Does the Pope actually keep his mouth shut on Muslims, or does it just not make the news?

Trump has the world riled up. I spent some time looking at the opinions of Canadians/USMCA (they call it CUSMA) on YouTube and Europeans relative to the Falklands on another. Both seem to hate us.

The papal and Catholic doctrine on the death penalty is fallible. Otherwise, the prior Catholic doctrine approving of the death penalty could not have changed. But I do agree, the fallible Catholic teaching on this topic is in fact wrongheaded.

Preferably nothing, but if he needs to wade in Iran and other Muslim nations deserve the brunt of his criticism (sort of missing that due process thing).

I wish he would be consistent across the board.

Call Iran out for their executions and tell Latin Americans to stay in their countries like he did Africans.

the Vatican should focus on cleaning up in-house pedophelia before advising anybody about anything

Strange this Pope was silent on Iran executing women last week.

He was too busy making sure the Vatican Muslim prayer rugs were out and ready.
