I have to think these people know that saying this will have an adverse effect on their careers. He is not dumb but Republicans saying this sort of stuff has not turned out well so far for most of them. Same exact thing happened to the rinos that said the election was fair.

Has Trump or his team actually said that they declassified those specific documents that were seized in a court filing, or produced evidence that he did so?
I haven’t been clued in over the past week to that story. But it has been strange that they have yet to actually present that obvious defense.

Exactly. It's like a stupidity test.
The nominee will either be Trump or someone endorsed by Trump if by some chance they prevent his candidacy.
Desantis has out flanked everyone on this point as well.
Desantis knows he can't beat Trump but he could very well get Trump's endorsement.
Pompeo thus far had done well in this game but he just failed the stupid test.
Pompeo shouldn't be this dumb. He has to know he can't beat Trump so the puzzle to solve is, how can I get Trump to endorse me.

I’m talking about their court filings. If they believed he declassified the documents, I have no clue why that belief/fact would not feature prominently at the very least in the factual background of everything they have filed in this case.
It’s an affirmative defense to any possible charge related to his possession or treatment of the documents, and it would immediately render moot the basis of the search warrant.
Note: I am not saying he didn’t declassify them, I’m just saying it is bizarre that they have not made that statement, if they believe it true.

Its always bothered me that he picked Gina Haspel to replace him at the head of CIA. She was in charge of the London station when all the set up for the Russian collusion was going on, she knew fully well what had happened.....and he promotes her???? Then I knew he is just another one to smile at you while they are f33320 you in the back.

My two biggest criticisms of Trump’s presidency: His instinct to sit back and “Monitor the situation “ too much, and his appalling choices for top posts.
