"The simple answer is the majority of voters want free shite that is paid for by the millionaires and billionaires."

Bingo!

You get a car! You get a car! You get a car!

Socialism for everyone!

The answer lies in here.

The left has played the long game. Universities have now pumped out multiple generations of leftist worker bees and they have now climbed the ladder to positions of power in all areas you mentioned.

What was relegated to the campuses decades ago is now in real positions of power.

Amd the demographics of voters has been unfavorable for decades as well and it is worse globally. The poor, dumb, and aggrieved populations are growing.

They have the vote of American youth. The indoctrination in schools are paying off huge for the left. Social media has the easily influenced youth fired up.

But that's it at the core, and it's not new. Whether it was Tytler or de Tocqueville (I've seen it credited to both), it's pretty solid
quote:

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship."

Add in the nature of bureaucracies to always grow and amass power, and the leftward slide is eventually inevitable for a large enough population.

not commie after all.

he announced he's adding/promoting 300 detectives to the force.

not commie either.

Because they have the power, and people with power will not relinquish it willingly.

This country has strayed so far from the constitutional republic the founders created in both foreign and domestic policies that there is no fixing it. The two sides viscerally hate each other so much that this country is headed for a major conflict within itself, as most countries do.

Make no mistake about it the great majority of these politician don't care about the people on either side of this they only care about preserving themselves and the government as a whole for themselves.

This is so much more of a part of it than this board realizes. I mentioned this yesterday in the Caitlin Clark thread and got several responses mentioning that they didn't believe the data about the 18-29 demographic voting trend. Mobilizing this demographic in large numbers gives the left an advantage that the right can't counter.

Politics has changed forever. Republicans run on policy, which the majority of the electorate does not give a frick about. Democrats understand the value of having celebrities and influencers on their side.

You are dishonest on a fundamental level and not worth any effort.

Telling us Schumer's "moderate" positions should be easy for you.

They played the long game. Infiltrated the education system. Seems like everything stems from that point.

Meanwhile, the right strokes itself with idea of taking the high road, convinced that someone, somewhere will step up and pay the price to free them all. They'll pound their chests and call themselves patriots without having lifted a finger to defend their own freedom, but damn they'll put on an impressive spread every 4th of July. And they'll convince themselves that it's ok to let the world burn as long as their own little slice of it remains safe and warm. You know, that whole slow boil meme. I believe Sloth sums it up nicely.

You cherry picked something to confirm the opinion you'd already formed

I never heard of him. I have no pre opinion of him.

I quoted the entirety of the first quotation that came up in a search.

so nothing you wrote is true. you keep wanting me and other posters to fit your prejudices.
deal with reality without adding b.s.. you'll do better if you deal with actual posts instead of living in a fantasy.

My theory is laid out in a previous OP thread this morning. At the heart of it is demographic changes, election law changes, and a general loss in family/religion importance in society. There is no silver bullet to fix this.
