There are two characters from fiction that explain how a weaker minority is able to control a stronger population. One is Grima Wormtongue from The Lord of the Rings. Another is Uriah Heep from Dickens’ David Copperfield.
Both of these evil weaklings worked day and night in secret to gain power over the minds of their moral superiors - Wormtongue over the King of Rohan (maybe), and Heep over the attorney for whom he worked. These great authors, Tolkein and Dickens, well understood the question you posed, as well as the way to overthrow them.
Awaken! Awaken and use your far superior power to chase them from the halls of power. Too long has the moral majority slumbered in our suberbs, hunting and fishing, cooking outdoors, and taking junior to sports practice. We need to go after the mother frickers at the school board and county council level.

Last night as we slept, super far left candidates took two of the sneakily most important elections in the country, the Wisconsin Supreme Court and Mayor of Chicago. The Chicago one might be more disturbing as they elected an actual Communist, someone far, far, far worse than Lori Lightfoot and no one thought that possible to elect someone worse.
So why does the left keep kicking the shite out of the right? They have taken the popular vote in 5 of the last 6 Presidential elections, a Republican has only had more votes than their opponent once this freaking century.
And they seem to keep winning. They have taken control of the media, youth, education, much of the judiciary outside of the Supreme Court and a couple of fed circuits, District Attorney's offices, and our law enforcement and defense apparatus.
I am seeking a discussion that is more intelligent than simply "free shite" and "they cheat" (although certainly it could be as simple as those things, but for sake of discussion I am looking for more). Let's go beyond that and have a real discussion outside of our comfort zone, as to how this can be so appealing to so many, and how it can be effectively combated.
Because the left and right are the Globetrotters and the Washington Generals. It is all scripted and planned.

Not sure what "winning" actually means to the average person. I think most think it's a win if inflation gets under control, paychecks rise, healthcare is more accessible and affordable and you're free to live your life without a lot of hassle. Our families can go to school or worship in peace without getting killed. Most people don't give a shite about party politics. Whatever party that can achieve those goals is winning to me.
I don't really align with any party affiliation frankly, but my $.02...
Right. Aging demographics. Smaller population base. Concentrated in smaller states generally, most of which have stable, or declining populations. Some exceptions like here in Tennessee. Promote issues that resonate with their base but not always appealing to the broader population of independents and liberals.
Left. Younger and more active demographic. Growing population base. Concentrated in large, populated States. Tend to focus on social issues more like voter rights, climate change, equality, women's rights.

Because the ideology of the Left caters to the lust of the flesh - it is the path of least resistance to satiate the desires of the immediate while duplicitously applying a humanistic veneer which in turn, fuels tribalistic momentum in a continuous feedback loop.

The left owns academia and entertainment and has for about 60 years now. We're seeing the results of that.
Also, Democrats are infinitely better at Republicans at voting. Even if they don't like their candidate, they hold their noses and vote for their party because they understand that winning is the only thing that matters. Republicans don't understand this.
The majority of the electorate in this country does not care about or vote on economic issues anymore. The left's messaging has made it where people think made up social issues are the only thing that matters, economy be damned. A huge part of this is that the left has the 18-29 demographic voting in record numbers now.

Without reading the whole thread, here is my 2 cents.
1st the left gets 95% + of the black vote, automatically, regardless of candidate. On top of that they are now getting 60-75% of the white suburban guilt ridden housewives.
Throw in the dumbass college kids that think they are voting for freedom while in fact voting for more government and there you are. Done deal.

Look at last 10 years… The most conservative generation has died out and has been replaced by a very progressive and feelings based Gen Z.

Read Fant's Essay on "Transnational Progressivism", FB, if you want to understand the "why". The intellectual, ideological and practical appeal of TP is virtually irresistible. Albeit it's like a gun...great in the hands of a wise and honest individual, but calamitous in the hand of a nefarious actor.
And re the hegemony of TP (Global Fascist/Egalitarian Government) you'll have to go to the Good Book to understand the SPIRITUAL dynamics that underlies the likely motivation and ultimate end therein.
Bottom line: The Right is going down hard, and the Left won't be far behind them. There are some things that must happen, in order for Humanity to learn particular lessons. The 'Lesson' will be that Humanity is not capable of managing their affairs, given great power (High Tech). Good intentions won't cut it; we have grave limitations and a 'fatal flaw'. That is why Jesus Christ - "Only Begotten" - is offered to Humanity as THE 'Savior', and will be the "chief cornerstone" of the 'Earthly Millennial Kingdom' wherein the "lamb will lie down with the lion" and "the swords will be hammered into plowshears", and "there will be no need for one to teach another, as the law (Truth/Vision) will be written into the hearts of all".
I don't know how "intelligent" this idea is, but that will depend on an individual's subjective pov. Hell, ultimate (Personal) Reality will; and that is the only true Justice.

For the same reason, the Nazis kept winning. A majority of the citizens of Germany wanted them in power. What drives these people is hatred? Hatred for everything conservative, Christian, male, and white. The Nazis hated the Jews and gassed them. The radical atheist Cabal hates the White Christian Male of European origin.
Jesus Christ came to bind the wounds of division and hatred. For his effort, they hung Him on the Cross.
They simple refused to listen to Jesus. The rejection cost them dearly. We need only read the description of the Fall of Jerusalem by the Jewish historian Jesephus (an eye witness) to see what happens to people who kick God out of their culture.

Bernie was rejected. not by a ton and not in the north.
but he's in the minority in the Senate.
I'm reminded of pat Buchanan era fox tv would have a moderate in debate with typical right wingers and the story was we are told the moderate is The liberal. no mf. I see you don't let real liberals on your debate show.
