Perhaps it was karma for Japan to receive the A-bombs considering their cruelty in WW2

I have been reading accounts of what the Japanese were doing in China and Korea. If you haven't studied up on this and are interested google around a bit. They basically did whatever they wanted to citizens of those countries (and others).
The war effectively neutered them. Perhaps for the better.
I get the impression that the Pacific Theater doesn't get discussed nearly as much as Europe. Possibly due to guilt over the bombs, more likely because Europe had evil white men.

And for the downvoters, I just saw a picture of Japanese soldiers tossing Chinese babies around on bayonets. Just one example.

The rape of Nanking and their atrocities in Korea is truly unbelievable to read about.
For all of the flack that Hitler and the Nazis get, the imperial Japanese were an unspeakable and unbelievable evil that needed to be put down hard. They were the scourge of Asia and half of the pacific ocean.
Japan may be a good society right now thats good natured but I can say with complete honesty that not one country in Asia trusts them worth a shite at all even generations later as the evil they did was absolutely biblical. Why else do you think they're still not allowed to remove the self-defense moniker from what armed forces they do have?

Imperial Japan was horrible to the Chinese. I don't know a ton about Sino Japanese history, but during this time they were brutal. They also trained their civilian women and children to defend Japan at all costs with wooden spears and the like too so what do you expect?

The Japanese were beyond barbaric.
They deserved much worse than they actually got.
One thing about it. For about 25 years after the bombs America had them looking up and diving under desks every time they heard an airplane.

Until the day he died, my grandfather would have nightmares that Japanese soldiers were tracking him down to kill him. The dreams would startle him so badly he would completely fall out of bed and wake up on the floor in a panic.

I remember reading a story where two japanese officers had a competition to see who could decapitate 100 US POWs the fastest. They had a martial culture that did not respect soldiers that surrendered.
You are correct that losing the war neutered them. Now their birthrate is so low because all of their young men aren't interested in women and would rather whack it to hentai in their rooms in their parents homes.

My granddad was a torpedo pilot in the Pacific, and he was hit by a kamikaze. He spent 2 years in a Japanese prison; 6'2" 200 when he went in, weighed about 100 when he went home. He never had any real teeth after he was 23 because of beatings and malnourishment. That being said, he was extremely lucky because besides being the only survivor in his plane he was in the same area as Bush and the Flyboys

Look into unit 731. Truly horrifying shite. Chemical and biological testing that made mangele look like child's play.
