I don’t know guys. This sounds pretty rational. Officer climbs ladder to investigate. As the officer is about to clear the ladder suspect points his gun at him. Officer, in a vulnerable position, jumps from ladder to cover. Once the shooter realizes that he’s been noticed he quickly attempts to shoot Trump.

I believe it.

Most of local LEO are just looking to cash another check and make it to the weekend buffet

I believe the encounter took place. But the details don't add up to me.

It all comes down to time. Unless that LEO was a 100% coward he had all the advantages.

He was behind him, surprised him, alerted beforehand, can come to bear on the target first (at least 4 rounds before Crooks can even get the barrel in his general direction).

You come up behind an obviously armed shooter with all the advantages and you allow the former president to get shot at, causing innocents their life?

Either these details are wrong or that Sherriff needs to arrest that officer now.

ETA: and if Crooks wasn't surprised, as in he heard him coming up the ladder, and was waiting on him... why didn't he shoot? You are on a suicide mission (he can see at least one sniper team) to kill the president but you have LEO dead to rights and you don't shoot before repositioning and taking you shots at Trump?

The shots would’ve been heard and ruin the assassination attempt

I agree with you. There weren’t a lot of options for the LEO, here.

You would think that someone would have put a call out on the radio that they were investigating a man with a gun, or even from the officer that retreated that the guy actually had a gun. He shouldn’t have had the opportunity to get off any shots.

I recall thinking - so much for that b/s about defend and serve . Which made me a firm “always carry heat” proponent as in kill the cockroach now, we’ll deal with the fallout later.
Yep. I started concealed carrying immediately after Louisiana passed the constitutional carry bill months ago. I wasn’t waiting for it to go into effect July 4th.

I was going to church last weekend with my nephew from out of state last weekend. He saw me put my pistol into my pocket and asked, “Are you gonna carry that into church?” Me, “Yep. 90% of all mass shootings are in gun free zones. I don’t believe in gun free zones. I’m doing this for everyone else’s safety just as much as mine.”

yeah... you're right. I stand corrected. SS reacts and removes Trump, everybody including the snipers are engaging... all before he can reposition back prone towards stage.

I wondered where the Uvalde deputies wound up.

Well said. Cops aren't your friends. Little more than the state's foot soldiers.

Sounds plausible.

Easy to believe though - LEO somewhat understandably have proven they won’t intentionally risk their life for strangers.

That was roughly my guess. Smallish SS team on site, heavy local presence especially outside the perimeter and some goon(s) slacked off on the duty they accepted. Less conspiratorial but probably loosely what we will find.

agree with the sentiment. However, I have some issues with this story.... so right before he shoots cop climbs ladder, he points gun at LEO, LEO retreats, he then fires at Trump immediately after. So, here's my issues...

I agree and call BS on this report. There are 40+ witnesses of the guy on the roof and not a single one mentioned he turned or made that type of move. Someone took a picture of him on the roof so my guess is that there is video of him on the roof as well that would show if he was distracted or pointed his gun at anyone behind him.

and it's sad to say that the LEO might have lied to his Sherriff once he realized the consequence of his actions.

That's why the details are just a bit off, news is reporting what Sherriff said as fact without any spin.

It's possible.

Not that I believe the story, but playing it out would mean the officer would have his gun drawn onto the roof of a building within bullet shot of Trump. Could make himself a target if he's wrong. If the shooter drew on him, he would need to retreat quickly not knowing if the shooter was a crazy who would pursue him and start shooting at him before he could get cover. By the time he got to a safe cover position, it's all over. Don't know either way, but there's nowhere near enough detail to say anything anyway, even whether it happened or not.

It’s an AP report, seems very legit.

Cops would rather arrest the elderly for feeding the homeless like that cop in AZ.
