Perpetually hungry...
quote:
Garrett Cox, 12, has been left heartbroken ever since the death of his 400-pound hog Bootsy.
The two were closely bonded, as Garrett relied on her to help manage his ADHD and autism, according to his mom Kerrie Cox.
But horror struck last week after the family realized Bootsy had escaped from her pen at their home in Hoschton, a rural town located 50 miles northeast of Atlanta.
Garrett's father Matt Cox said he heard a gunshot shortly after and the family followed the sound to their neighbors' home.
They claimed they found Bootsy dead beside a pot of boiling water and the neighbors wearing aprons which lead them to believe they planned to eat Bootsy.
Kerrie told Fox 5 Atlanta that she asked one of them: 'Why would you do this? You knew she was our pig,' only to be met with laughter and derision.
Police have now arrested three people in connection with the case. Mai Kia Vang-Moua, 54, Maysy Moua, 59, and Kee Moua, 33, all face aggravated animal cruelty charges.

Damn. That's a lot of ham and bacon there.

The neighbors didn't look hungry... they look quite well fed.

Definitely infidels.

Deport, seize the ham and bacon, surely they have little else.

Well, obviously, this is wrong of the neighbors. Especially since it's implied that they knew this pig belonged to their neighbors.
However, a Georgia baw who allows his son to have a "therapy pig" is suspect in my book.
I'd maybe reconsider if I knew the extent of the kids autism. If it's real autism that would have been diagnosed as such even 40 years ago, then maybe I give a pass. But if it's today's version of autism, then dude is sus. I say I'd maybe give a pass because an animal other than a damned pig could have been chosen for this purpose. And even if you go with a pig anyway, allowing it to get to 400 lbs is freakin excessive. You can't take this thing anywhere which makes me believe it's not truly needed at all.

From the picture in the OP it seems like the pig was in some sort of competition with the boy, as well. I'm leaning towards real autism and not "everyone who doesn't want to sit still in math" autism.

Ballsy move, going onto someone else's land and killing their livestock. That kinda stuff doesn't end well where I live.
Fricken savages.
I'll admit that I'm curious about the fencing situation. Seems that even a 4-ft woven wire fence would've kept the suspects at bay. I'm a big fan of hot wires high and low, too. Electric fencing may not have been legal/advisable in their living situation, however.
But still, your animals should be safe on your land. Damned shame what this country is coming to.

Pretty sure the pig got out. I don't think the extras from Moana got in.

Damn.. How fast did they butcher that pig??

Says the pig got out. They didn’t come on their land

I don't see the problem. Bootsy got out, wandered onto private property and attacked the residents. You can shoot anything in self-defense.

Did they already have it strung up by the tendons ready to bleed and gut?
It takes a while to bring a big cast iron pot to boil, large enough for a 400lb hog.
You have to have done it before to do it correctly.

Not to be judgmental or anything....well, yes actually, I will be judgmental.
HE should have gotten a dog or cat. If the kid truly needs this animal why get a pig and allow it to get to 400 lbs and can't take it anywhere? He obviously doesn't need this thing.

My point was that it looks like this is a 4H animal that turned into a pet for the kid.

And why would this matter at all, regardless? The thread isn't about his family suing because they wanted to bring it on an airplane.

Ned from Spider-Man went off the rails once Peter Parker disappeared.
