I grew up a huge fan of hers.
Finally saw her at the Texas Club in the 90s. She didn't need to say much during the show to reveal that she's a dumbass. Oh well.

I could imagine Bon Jovi being dumb enough to declare he will cease performing You Give Love a Bad Name. Shot through the heart... you're a loaded gun, etc.
And though some call Benatar's move "virtue signaling" I'm not so sure that fits. I think she's genuinely dumb enough to sincerely believe the song could be hurtful, I don't think she's faking concern for attention.
