IIRC, that happened because the Bullets’ owner got butthurt about gun violence, doubly so because DC was / is one of the most dangerous cities in the country despite highly restricted gun ownership.

Not sure. Probably not but I wouldn’t put it past people to piss and moan about perceived gun imagery. Even in a song about having sex unrelated to actual guns.

Are people still actually listening to her sing? If I want to hear hit me with your best shot, I'll just pull up one of the thousands of videos from yt to listen to it. I won't be relying on her singing it here in the present.

Well, all I can say is back in the day when that song was popular never once did I hear it and think of people literally shooting guns at someone else. I don’t suspect I’m alone in that respect.
