I’m warming towards the idea that the universe is a doughnut.

Yeah. I'm aware of the concept. It still leaves us having the try and comprehend the crazy question of what lies outside the border of the doughnut?

The correct answer is probably "nothing" but, funny thing about the word "nothing" is humans really can't comprehend what "nothing" means.

Is it dark? Is it bright? Do those words even apply? If I was at the edge of the doughnut and pressed my nose against the edge, what would I see? Is there an even an "edge" and, if so, how? Why? I mean........WHAT IN THE ACTUAL frick!!!

Some group of politicians and digital tech corporations may someday argue that since we originate from a greater simulation, then it’s justifiable to limit the population from traveling or freedom and restrict them to the metaverse, after all they’d just be duplicating creation. Perhaps each pleb could have his on cell, some drugs and a pair of Microsoft/fb goggles to simulate freedom.

Nothingness can never exist. If it could youd never know it anyway.

Nothing comes from nothing. The straws that must be grasped when you reject God…

Are there some good “simulation theory” videos on YouTube that you’d recommend?

BAMMMMMM....

If God created the heavens, then he created the Aliens that flew by and mixed their DNA with the primates on earth.

Everything falls into place, for the death of a star puts iron in your blood...

It's happened this way many many times, in many many places.

One of the struggles finite reasoning creatures have is with a being that had no beginnings and therefore can’t be explained by said finite creatures. But to be able to give this credit to the physical world rather than a creator seems to be stubborn defiance, and dumbed down reasoning.

One of the struggles is also arbitrarily making up a creator out of thin air since we don't understand our origins.

This sounds like traditional theism, with the universe as a self-existent God, right down to the creation of humans (as emergent sub-thoughts).

That's exactly what I was thinking. I also find it a little ironic.

There's no such thing as nothingness. The universe is a brute fact. It exists and always has existed (even prior to the big bang).

Or. There’s a creator and through the word of God he gave us a way to have a intimate relationship with him through the blood of Jesus Christ! God wants to spend eternity with you!!

Anything with Nick Bostrom. He is the main guy who developed the hypothesis. He's done Rogan, Google talks, TED talks, etc. Lots of vids on Youtube.

If time has no meaning in this simulation, perhaps the "creator" only exists in what we deem the future.

I see we've come a long way since Newton and certainly basic Platonic and Aristotelian logic.

But have we really?

These leading “scientific” theories are sounding more and more like belief in magic. Just more layers of overly complex magic.

I am not an adherent to this exact theory but it is probably closer to the truth than I would think that most people realize.

God said "before time began." without matter there is not time. NOW scientist pretty much say prior to the big bang there was no such thing as time. Actually they don't say that but that is how it gets translated to common folk and scientist don't all agree on anything.

Point is time is emergent not fundamental. And the Quantum eraser experiment is an experiment that shows that future events can change (influence/determine) events that have already happened.

If you think the double slit experiment is weird the quantum eraser experiment will blow your mind.

That seems to be the aim, always, sound beyond smart like a physics professor writing a sci-fi movie, but base it off some generality that can’t ever be disproven or proven. And yet get emotional if challenged.
