The more confusing thing to me is why people idolize people they see on TV or movie screens.
It takes a special kind of person to have all that attention and not have it go to their heads, and start believing that they really are actually better people than the rest of humanity, and that their opinions and desires are not superior to everyone else's opinions and desires.
Hollywood, NFL, NBA, politicians.... If you're fawning over these people your basically telling them that you are a subspecies to them and that you need and desire their wisdom so you can mimic it and hopefully become as awesome as they are.
That's kind of sad and misguided.
