I know it is for a lot of other Retirees/Vets as well.

I get it. shite like this is also why the military is way off on their recruiting goals. Who would want to join that shite show right now?

My point is, nowhere in the article did it say 25 ft seas…and even if so, so what?

We don’t lose fricking jets like that, period. At least, we didn’t use to.

Tantal…my family has served for generations. It’s what we do. It’s who we are. (like so many other American families)

All this woke BS and Marxist crap has disrupted my entire plan….how can I, in good conscience, allow any of my 5 sons to sign up for this shite? Why would I subject them to that?

At least it wasn’t an A4 with a nuke on it.

WTF? Where are you getting 25 ft seas?

It happens. North Atlantic off Norway. Indian Ocean in transit from the Gulf to Australia. CVN's arent stabilized passenger vessels. It doesn't take much to start pitching and rolling.

Unless you have been in 25ft+ seas on a ship then you don't understand. I have and no amount of gripes will secure shite.

Been there, done that (repeatedly).
This latest incident is unacceptable...PERIOD!

To prevent a gazillion dollar fighter jet from falling off the deck of a Truman Class Carrier it is highly recommended you tether the aircraft to the deck of said carrier. Especially if you anticipate the approach of violent weather. Otherwise you run the risk of losing a fighter jet and your Navy being accused of being an affirmative action branch of the Armed Forces.

As you were. Smoke'um if you got'um.

it's happened more recently - that one sticks out because of the lost nuke,

happened in gulf war on ranger and a tomcat went off of an elevator off cv 66 in 80s.

if during unreps as article stated - that birds engines would NOT have been running SO it would have had multiple tie down chains(the bane of flight deck crew at night).

if one was not securely latched..... and the jet was fully fuel the failure of one could make the others fail.

when they end up in catwalk instead of the drink it doesn't make the news.

This happened in the Mediterranean Sea, you know where all the cruise ships sail between Venice and Greek islands.

I bet it’s not hard to confirm because no cruise ship is sailing in 25 ft seas

The classes on securing our fighter jets to the deck are just gonna have to wait until we’re gay enough.

I served.

I'd do everything within my power to keep my kid from serving under the current administration.
