I've completely flipped on the deficit/debt issue.

Don't even care anymore.

It's all just ledger entries anyway. Mint those Quadrillion coins and deposit them in the FR!!

There are lots of people who agree with you, and I hope you are right, but it doesn't seem logical to be able to continue spending with no restraint and never have to pay the piper.

A pat on the back from the rest of the patriots. However, there’s not a single one of those in DC except for Rand Paul.

We have an entitlement problem. Welfare, food stamps, section 8, fake disability recipients, etc. Half the country is a drain on the country and the other half can't make up for it.

You mentioned Americans on disability, that number has skyrocketed over the past 20 years. I know a couple of dudes personally that could be working but instead they collect full disability benefits. What pisses me of about one of these leeches is his wife is a small business owner making pretty decent money.

Reduce federal work force by 40% over the next 4 years.

Reform welfare and cap it for 4 years per decade and only available to those enrolled votech or college.

Ban lobbiest from washington dc and make it a federal crime for government employees to take bribes from them.

this was supposed to happen in the last tax bill. Obviously just blowing smoke.

Ok, so I should have worded it differently by saying that that Obama's deficit for the year was around the one trillion mark and not his overall spending.
You didn't word it that way because you thought that he spent only $1 trillion. Otherwise you wouldn't have said this:
quote:

But he's tripled the highest spending of Obama and that was too much. It's just hard to defend.
FTR, if Trump continues to deficit spend at the same rate he has for the first 8 months, the deficit for FY 2019 will be roughly $1.1 trillion, which would match the FY 2012 deficit. The three previous years were $1.41 trillion, $1.29 trillion, and $1.3 trillion.
quote:

The fact remains, that every president ends up spending more per year than the preceding president and it's not sustainable.
And regardless of my semantical errors, there is reason for outrage and outrage at a government that always spends more than it takes in.

The government has been spending more than it takes in for more than 60 years. Even during the "Clinton surplus" years our level of debt INCREASED, not decreased. In fact the last time we finished a fiscal year owing less than we began it was in 1957.

So while it's perfectly okay to excoriate Trump for continuing to add to an inevitably unsustainable debt load, it's not like it's any different from his 9 most recent predecessors.

Trump is big on spending big on the military

President Trump has barbarians at the gate in DC. He has snakes everywhere and hundreds of Brutus and Cassius wannabes who would love to stick the knife in him. More so than any President ever, except maybe Kennedy. He has to get allies close to him or he would be dead already. Spending on the military and keeping allies there keeps him going.

Everything is a drop in the bucket! The bucket is filled with lots of drops!

That said trump does not care about debt because we are never going to repay it! Might as well spend spend spend to win reelection and win the war against the deep state. Global reset going to take care of national debt!

I believe that tax Revenue is at an all time high.

Trump should just freeze spending and within 4 years, we’d have a balanced budget.
Trump, of all people, should realize the evils of debt. He’s been through bankruptcy.

He’s done nothing to indicate that he cares though

you don't appear to understand who is responsible for the money the federal government spends. Go learn.

Republicans spent 8 years whining about debt ad nauseum. The truth is that nobody is going to commit political suicide and address the mandatory spending monster that is Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security. Democrats nor Republicans. It's just easy to target whoever currently holds office despite the impracticality of actually addressing the issue.

trump slashed the budget and cut military spending across the board, congress then simply wasted all that money plus a shitload more on top of that.

its not from lack of trying on trumps part, she showed them where they can cut lots of spending, but congress refuses to do anything but increase spending

also prepare yourself for a 6-9 trillion dollar infrastructure spending bill to revamp our roads, ports, bridges, trains, and airports. its needed so im all for it but i hate that they wont even try to save money elsewhere to help offset new spending.
