People who don't think too hard about it and just nod their heads?

Accusations of racism are being weaponized. It should be a much more serious claim than rudeness. It is, however, being trivialized by false claims such as these.
Were I an editor or producer in the media, conflating these terms would be a fireable offense.
I don't know what the media is saying but his tweet is nonsensical and ambiguous, at best. I just think it's hard to hold other people accountable for misinterpreting your nonsensical, pandering drivel.
Your posts are coherent. It isn't hard. Why can't the president do it?

This is nonsense.
Even if you don't want to call it racist, trump's tweet makes no sense. He couldn't even explain it at the presser. It's just nonsense

People today confuse anything perhaps a bit unsettling with racist.
Was it perhaps rude, offensive, inappropriate? Not to me, but I could see how others might find it such.
But racist? GTFOH
At some point doesn't it get tiring to be like hmmmm well technically this isn't racist....it's just nonsensical, rude, offensive, inappropriate, and childish banter directed at three minorities
If that's what you want to hang your hat on, so be it. Pretty sad either way

I'm still waiting for one of you regressives to show me anywhere that Trump's tweet was racist.
It's such nonsensical drivel that it's hard to even interpret, but I would say that he is trying to say that they are "insert country of origin"-Americans and they should "go back" to those countries of origin. So it's a swipe at ethnicity.

You missed the part where it's clear he's not trying to say something racist. No rational person would interpret this as racist: "Go back to your country, fix their problems, then come back and tell us how that went." Only someone foaming at the mouth to shout "racist!" would interpret it that way.
I'm saying that it is nonsensical and it appeals to the racist/xenophobic faction that supports Trump. I don't know what the media is saying.

He just did in a press conference. Apparently what he meant is "if they don't like it here, they are welcome to leave." I don't get how you get there from the tweets but whatever.
In other words, still nonsensical
Getting mad at people for not being able to decipher nonsense is ridiculous. You can't even do it. He's pandering. Duh

I already said that his statement doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I really don't know what he's asking them to do. What I do know is that it wasn't a "Derrrr you and your kind should go back to your country!" which is what the media is spinning it as.
So you don't even know WTF he's trying to say but you're mad about how it is being interpreted by others?
What do you expect?
If he doesn't want to get blasted, he's perfectly capable of putting together a coherent statement. He clearly doesn't want to.

Go back to your country" does not equate to asking them "Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done."
So he meant go back to their home states or cities and fix them? They were elected to Congress. That’s kinda exactly what they signed up for. Lol
What does trump actually want them to do? Explain in detail

All of us have to choose the lesser of evils in politics. Support does not mean absolute support. You've convinced yourself that someone who shites in gold-plated toilets is not, to some extent, part of the establishment. An incredible feat.

What if I told you that it is possible and rational to think that most Democrats, Republicans, and Trump are part of the establishment and that the bickering is mostly a game? Why are people so easily convinced that Mr. Trump is not part of the establishment?

I'm not concerned that he is "literally hitler." I am concerned that his cult of personality is so strong that he can easily inspire the nutjobs in this country to gain more power and influence.

Look dude, Trump told a black person from ohio and a hispanic person from new york to go back to their home countries. It is irrational to think that such a statement makes any sense whatsoever. Somehow you have convinced yourself otherwise.

Also, just to be clear I don't think Trump is a racist xenophobe. He doesn't care about race, immigrants, illegal immigrants, Israel, etc. He cares about making people like you happy and getting re-elected and he's willing to say whatever it takes to do that. He will never back down from any comment (he's well schooled in Roger Stone-ism) and he will do a 180 in messaging without issue. This has been proven time and time again.
However, some of us understand that rhetoric is a powerful device especially from someone with a powerful persona. Hence the concern.

So you think President Trump should be held accountable for every loon that is a racist? Because even you can admit that he did not create these loons, but it's quite obvious you and others want to pin their ignorance on him. That way you can call orange man bad and a racist. And maybe just maybe a few idiots will repeat what you said to other idiots.
No, I think he should be held accountable when he is transparently appealing to those types. You can't entirely control who follows you, but you do get to pick the messaging.
