The solution for them is simple. Their wills should give their land to the nearest Indian tribe.

I googled what's the purpose of land acknowledgements

quote:

A land acknowledgment is a statement that recognizes the Indigenous peoples who originally inhabited the land currently being occupied, aiming to highlight the history of colonization and displacement...

Currently occupied. That's rich. These people are totally sniffing each other's farts.

Which is why Texans handled the Comanches properly. No reservations. No casinos. Just frick off to somewhere else or die.

Your point is valid, but I think scalping was a European contrivance, so I don’t think they were scalping each other before Christopher Columbus found them.

I’m not saying she’s out of touch with reality, but would she know who in the hell the Tongva tribe was if she were to have two shitty jobs to help support herself and two kids as a single parent that barely made ends meet wondering if she’ll have enough to pay for the inflated grocery bill, ever rising cost of gas/electricity/water, etc.? Maybe, maybe not. But I’m absolutely sure it’s a hell of a lot easier to know who the Tongvas are when your assistant gives you the one sheeter to study while you drive your Bentley to your 2million dollar home and your biggest issue in life is will mean Trump come and deport my housekeepers, maids, yard crews, royal arse wipers, etc.

Land acknowledgments are so stupid.

“We’re acknowledging that we’re on this land immorally but we’re not going anywhere so let’s acknowledge that too.”

I hear them too often in my graduate program.

Wonder how many illegal aliens give a “land acknowledgment” before going to work?
