No joke.

Via Campus Reform:

An Oregon Department of Education newsletter from February promoted an online course designed to “dismantle” instances of “white supremacy culture in the mathematics classroom.” One example of “white supremacy” highlighted by the course was “the concept of mathematics being purely objective,” an idea which the resource stated is “is unequivocally false.”

The program, known as “A Pathway to Equitable Math Instruction,” describes itself as “an integrated approach to mathematics that centers Black, Latinx, and Multilingual students” that provides “opportunities for ongoing self-reflection as they seek to develop an anti-racist math practice.” […]

Examples of “white supremacy culture” cited by the document include a focus on “getting the ‘right’ answer” and requiring students to show their work.

This is an older argument than most think. I first read it in an article around 1980. It was by an Indian (dot) prof. Odd, because I thought Indians were good at math.

Sounds good to me...I'm sure there will be no real world issues with this belief.

I am a left handed person and I am offended by the use of the word "right." They could have use the word "correct" so they wouldn't offend the left handed community.

Am I doing this correct?

This may be true when it comes to extremely high levels of mathematics, but it's 100% false when dealing with high school level algebra

shite like this is why I hated most liberal arts classes.

You could have a correct answer but how you were graded was subject to the whims of the teacher. If you don't sufficiently parrot what they want to hear, you get a shite grade from their grader.

Ted Kaczynski speaks to this in his manifesto. Anything objective can be used to measure success and is therefore objectionable by the Left.

I kinda remember that the Chinese mathematical system dating back before white Europe crawled out the woods . And as for the other cultures I would think it’s a matter of learning and application

Cognitive dissonance much?

"trust the science! trust the science!"

"math is racist because it requires a right answer"

Sorry, you dumbass uneducated lefties, you can't have "science" without "mathematics."

I have an engineering degree and broke out in a sweat learning calculus and differential equations, statistics and applying all that in a dingy lab at LSU while you were out partying at a gay bar. So shut up your piehole about math and science, idiot leftists
