Tupelo is great. Just a big small town.

Madison County although real estate there is getting ridiculous.

Why no Jackson County love?

2024 GDP per capita

Mississippi 53,061 dollars
Louisiana 71,642 dollars

still a pretty big gap

Getting rid of state income tax will be a huge boon to moving there. It will bring in a lot of people with a lot of money. Magically, they somehow increase the economy of a large area rather quickly.

And then magically like Georgia and Virginia we will turn from red to purple then blue

There'll be a third data center announced in the next few months that bigger than the other two combined. I've been involved in it

There are zero good restaurants anywhere around there. That’s not an exaggeration; it’s 0.0.

It’s OK. Better than most of Mississippi, but if I was gonna move there again, it would be one of those other places.

Land all along Hwy 72 in Northern Marshall and Benton Counties in MS is selling for 10k an acre. I was born and raised in that part of the state and still live within an hours drive. I can tell you for certain that land wasn’t worth Jack shite when I was growing up. The tornadoes did a number on Slayden and that area just last week. Some sad scenes.

I doubt blues will move to Mississippi for a long time. As long as you can keep those assholes away, you'll be fine. In order for them to come, you'll need a metropolis like Atlanta or Denver. Or God forbid, DC

Mostly missed houses that I saw earlier this week. Crazy that it tracked another tornado fairly closely that hit 2-3yrs ago.

Will be driving through there again in the morning. I grew up in Corinth and have land outside of Walnut.

in the minds of many all they think of when someone mentions Mississippi is lynchings and cross burnings

that should keep the worst of the progressives out of the state for a few more years anyway
