Donald Trump's estimated worth is between 6.5 and 9.7 billion. You don't accumlate that much wealth by making dumb azz deals. Iran is the biggest deal of all. They were close to getting nukes and he stopped them. He is not going to put them in a position of reviving that threat.Find something else to whine about.

Does anyone really believe that Iran is going to give up their only 2 bargaining chips (Hormuz and uranium)? They know they wouldn't have any leverage or security without them.
The only way we fix that is by force.
I didn't want this fight to begin with, but we are in it now and the only correct way to end it is to completely finish it. There's no way that can be done without an invasion and installation of a democratic government. None.

Launching missiles will only get us about as far as we have gotten. Kill their leadership, and they just replace them. Expanding strikes will only hurt the people and their chance at a decent future.
The embargo may work after many months or years. That's a long time to suffer through a bad world economy only getting worse.
Boots on the ground is the only viable option I know of to ensure we attain out objectives and ensure that it's permanent.
Does anyone have another?

I agree the embargo may work but the timing is terrible with midterms coming up. So imo it’s no an option.
I personally would either give arms to civilians to aid in uprising, or full scale regime change and installing our handpicked guy.

Let me phrase this more carefully because clearly stating the blunt truth is an auto-moderation due to the words I chose.
People need to read up on Husayn ibn Ali because his failed uprising and martyrdom was a central myth for the 1970s Iranian revolutionaries.
Essentially, the Iranian people see dying for faith and country as a virtue.
Even the people who are not strongly religious receive this wisdom in a more general nationalistic way. However others see these fights more as a religious war.
Regardless, these people are not going to just surrender. It is virtuous to struggle for faith and country.
These ceasefires and stalled negotiations are a tactic where they bet that they can suffer longer than our soft first world asses can suffer high prices at our big box stores and gas pumps.
The blunt truth is we will have to do things that utterly destroy Iranian society from the air. Apparently saying the plaintext fact of what that would be is just going to get auto-moderated, so fill in the blanks. I think you'll find yourself questioning the morality of it. Especially when for most of us this only affects our lives at all due to high prices.

The issues arming civilians are:
1. How do we get them adequate weapons?
2. How do we ensure that those weapons only wind up in the hands of the people that we want to have them?

The normal Iranian citizen is going to hate America if we cut a deal and bolt. They’ll be the ones to pay the price for leaving the IRGC in power.

I think we overestimate that to be quite honest. They had a power vacuum to seize the initiative but it went nowhere. The truth is they see us as an enemy more than a friend. They'd only use us insofar as the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Whatever we do to arm and empower them, it will blowback on us in good time. As long as petroleum runs the world, Iran will not be a friend of the United States. They have internal animus and external pressures (Russia and China) to never be of the same mind with the United States.

Those Countries discussed are Saudi Arabia, The United Arab Emirates (already a Memberl), Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain (already a Member!). If we went into this with any goal lesser than this, then we should not have gone in at all. The members of this regime are the descendants of the guys who sponsored the killing of 241 US Marines in Beirut and other US military in other places around the ME, like the Khobar Towers in KSA.
If we don't finish the job, that would be disrespectful to all of our soldiers that the IRGC or their proxies have killed over the past 47 years.
Secondarily, Trump has stated numerous times that Iran cannot be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.
This regime needs to be eliminated. I don't give a flying frick if they are replaced by communists, a monarchy or a democracy. Just get rid of the state sponsors of terrorism and their ability to develop nuclear weapons.

Seems very likely to me something that was in the works didn’t happen and they pivoted. Don’t know if it was in part the weapons cache the Kurds kept, a high level defector who ended up not leading anti regime forces, a reneg by some other uprising leader. Hard to pinpoint. Maybe all of the above.
There was clearly lots of good planning initially and then we just sort of ran out of targets. So the plan had to have included something that didn’t materialize for whatever reason. Personally would have just kept bombing the smaller units and leadership when available to keep the pressure on but the damage to Arab infrastructure was putting pressure on us. We weren’t able to protect the region well enough for there to not be complications.
