We didn’t underestimate but it’s…
A numbers game
A targeting game
A cost game
Etc.

If that isn't a total troll account, "she" speaks for a weird minority of "Monarchist" ex-pat Iranians (I grew up with a few) whose families probably escaped before being beaten up in 1979. Most importantly, she isn't in Iran at the moment... it's like the Cuban Americans I know here who are hoping Cuba gets bombed to bits. That's not going to be the opinion of someone actually living in Cuba, who will probably have a bomb land on them, even if they want the government to be changed, get it?

So you’re saying Britain assisted in overthrowing the Shah as payback for punting BP, huh?

They said that making deals with Mullahs was like making deals with monkeys and making deals with Iran under the Shah was harder.

I believe CentCom has fed us a lot of BS about the effectiveness of the bombing. I getting very skeptical of what’s coming out about the success of this campaign.

So you think the sheer quantity of bombs we're dropping around the clock is fruitless?

I can't get over how stupid some people are on this board.

They’ve fed us nothing but BS

It’s a complete disaster. Hopefully Trump pulls the plug sooner rather than later. The good news is that perhaps this marks the beginning of the end for the Israel lobby.

What's more important the launch platform or the ability to still launch it? They could launch it from the back of a camel, but it's still getting launched.

I don't think a camel can reach high enough speeds to launch a drone. Also it would be so bumpy that the drone would fall off the camel.

Obviously the jihadis would surrender immediately and become a people you can reason with. A week is a long enough period of time to clean up their barbarism

Its unreasonable that after a week we have only sunk their navy, destroyed their airforce, and taken out their leadership.

We spend a trillion dollars per year on defense. We better have the edge over sanctioned and broke AF Iran when it comes to absorbing the costs of the war.

Stupid is an understatement. This weekend it was “omg gasoline is going over 3 dollars a gallon. We are toast!” No the frick we aren’t. Jesus Christ gasoline has been over three dollars a gallon until recently when the Biden administration drove the prices up. The world kept turning and people dealt with it. Next it will be the price of eggs have risen, how will we survive? The same fricking way you survived 12 months ago when prices were high..

In the case of the war with Iran, it’s been a whole 9 arse days and morons are apoplectic that Iran is launching missiles and drones and that means the war is lost. Never mind the whole premise for launching this war was to DESTROY their insanely dangerous and growing MISSILE program. Why is anyone shocked they are launching missiles?? Omg they hit a radar station! We’ve lost the fricking war!

I was talking about the costs of targeting drones.

They are cheap to make. Targeting systems are expensive but the actual expenditure to shoot it down with can often times be way more expensive.

Not really but they do not deserve to be tortured and/or stoned to death in Iran either.

That is why we are bringing in the Ukrainians. They have this nifty little drone interceptor system called Sting which only costs $2100 per interception.

ETA: Sting is just one of the cheap anti drone solutions that the Ukrainians have come up with. Ukraine now says it has made too many drone interceptors and is able to provide them to the USA. Time for Marco Rubio to tell Zelensky that Ukraine can pay back some of its debt to the USA by giving us with those drone interceptors.
