Molly apparently also chose to go to a college she couldn’t afford. Hope study abroad was fun since you’ll be paying for it until your 40.

quote:I worked full time and had kids while pursuing my advanced degree. Best thing I ever did career wise. Sacrificed time with family but it made more sense than borrowing money and not working. I was still able coach the kids in baseball and stuff. I guess it's just the difference in boomers and whatever these asswipes call themselves.
I paid for my undergraduate and masters degrees. Or the army did.

We need some big Italian dudes to drag these deadbeats out back and remind them on why they shouldn’t borrow money they don’t want to pay back.

Undergrad, private. About $170k, Champlain College, BS in Writing, I didn't know a Bachelor of Science in writing was even possible. Grad, private. About $120k, Columbia, MA in Writing. Probably $250k minimum on loan, probably more, so you can be an independent writer and live in one of the most expensive cities in the nation.
Herein lies the answer to both her problem and what could have been a few better solutions. Number One pick a degree(s) that can pay off these loans when you are meaningfully employed and two don’t go to these expensive schools. It’s as simple as that. It is amazing the number of people that believe now that the federal government and therefore the US taxpayer should pay for their bad decisions.

Ah, so its priorities...
No different than 90% of the 20 to 50yr olds these days. Keeping up with the joneses and 0 responsibility

Obama is 100% to blame for this. Turning the loans over to the government is what caused the costs to explode and created this debt problem.
But we'll never see them blame their commie diversity messiah, though.

As a legal adult with all my faculties I entered into a bad deal. What is the government going to do for me because of my error in judgement?

They believe in collective responsibility, which means no one is in charge of their choices or actions.
Progressives loathe the idea of individual freedom and responsibility.

They weren’t even banks. Banks have been out of that game for years.

The problem with the young generation is they think these are necessities and not luxuries and don’t understand sacrifice in order to take care of your responsibilities. Imo if you default on a student loan you should have your degree revoked just like the bank takes your house and car. It gets reinstated when you get caught up on payments
The problem with the irresponsible whiny portion of the young generation
Every kid I know that age is doing things the way they are supposed to do them. All of my good friends had the right idea about how to be parents so that is why.
It's kind of like all boomers aren't the stereotype either.
I feel for those kids though, a lot of knuckleheads their age and a lot of those knuckleheads look down on the responsible kids. The good kids don't care about that.

but you never hear a peep about 25% credit card interest rates that truly effect poor and disadvantaged people of all types?
Because a senator from Delaware made sure that banks could charge whatever TF they wanted to -in exchange they gave his crackhead kid who just graduated law school his first job.
My God I loathe that demented potato brain

Democrats LOVE that this is the mindset they have created amongst our populace, and that it continues to grow and flourish.

Anecdotal: Former friend of mine took out $125K in loans for all liberal arts degrees a million years ago. This person went on to work at the Sadvocate and was paying $50/month.
Not sure how it works with loans today but the govt was extremely lax in their repayment program.

I had an employee who got an MBA from a private school and added that to her undergrad loans to end with well over 150k. She was paying less than $300/mo based on her current earnings.
She has now quit her job to be a mom (which is awesome).

The primary problem.
Kids who have been handed everything, don't understand how to earn their worth and don't believe you can better yourself by occupational performance.
