On Wall Street, where executives tend to be unsentimental about cutting their losses, a half-dozen prominent Democratic donors said Mr. Biden’s chances had plummeted after the debate, at times using expletives to describe the situation.

In recent days, some company leaders and Democratic political operatives have called the chief executive of JPMorgan Chase, Jamie Dimon, according to someone with knowledge of the calls, to gauge his interest in replacing Mr. Biden. (Mr. Dimon has said repeatedly that he will not run.)

Have to say, I'd vote for Dimon over Trump.

Other names being tossed about are JB Pritzger (Gov of ILL), Josh Hawley (Gov of PA), Gavin Newsome and Sherrod Brown (Ohio Senator). All are white men.

But Democrats are the party of the people, not big corporations.

Oops, meant to type BOB CASEY, Senator from Pennysylvania, I was just thinking in Governor mode for a second, Brain fart, thanks for the catch!

The thing is, unless they keep Harris as VP (something she could say Eff-You to, since you didnt pick me), they lose all the money they have raised.

Wrong again, queer.

The name you kept hearing from PA is Gov Shapiro.

Jesus.

Passing over Kamala Harris for an old white guy is not an option for them. That's the party they've built.

... Dimon has said he wouldn't run because there is no way in hell he (or Josh Hawley) could get the Dem nomination vis-a-vis the primary process. If Dems nominate Dimon, I'd eat my hat. But if Dimon is the nominee, it would be an absolute win-win for the country. I'd be happy with either.

Why is that? They can’t say anything is corporate greed if they nominate a CEO

I heard Hawley can't run for some sort of family reason. Sick kid or wife or parents or sibling or something like that. This was in the Washington Post about three weeks back.

Then the name Bob Casey was thrown about because they really would like someone from Pennysylvania - big time swing state.
