I get being independent if you hate both sides and vote 3rd party or being independent 30 years ago when both parties were relatively reasonable.

No way today you can agree with a republican then 4 years later agree with a democrat. They’re too far apart these days

Ya, these people have no perspective and believe the lies they are told about how dreadful modern America from news and media consumption. I like to think that people like this are fake twitter bots but you even have some millenial conservatives that have these same feelings. (See SFP's fear and loathing about the hardships of our generation)

That's a great. They change the narratives and confuse people.

Like Biden getting rich by being a politician in Washington. Or Trump being probably the least educated and qualified president maybe ever.

We no longer care about the quality or character of a person, just the narratives and our villages.

It'll destroy the country

I agree, they are dumbasses.

One cycle they are pro-abortion, pro-open border and pro-handouts.

The next cycle they are anti those things.

Thanks dumbass independents, along with "mean tweet" Republicans for the retarded pedophile in the White House.

The system is obsolete now, but they are so entrenched that it won't go away any time soon. Look how hard they worked to keep trump from draining the swamp.

Didn't need anyone to tell me this. Outside of the news, NO ONE talks about these things.

While I agree with most of this, I can understand why many don't want to be labeled with either party. Repubs and Dems are just two sides of the same coin.

If you read the piece Tenae is one of the most pro Trump people in the Q&A. Says they would vote Trump over Biden and even Manchin if he ran.

I'm technically an "independent" voter. I left the Republican party on 1/7/21 and that party can frick off.

I don't need a party. I do have my views and hold them dear;sometimes those views and beliefs align with a particular party and sometimes they don't.

I get your frustration, but many people in this country fall into this category. They simply don't follow or care about politics enough to follow outside of a few months prior to their vote.

They also represent the largest voting block in America.

I would call myself a Republican though I've drifted more Libertarian. I will forever side with Republicans over Democrats on any issue because Democrats are morally bankrupt and will sale any part of America to enrich themselves or their position.

In short, the young blood of the Democratic party hates America and everything it stands for.

you sound like me. honestly though many in both parties just get sound bites and are not informed either.

this board is a bubble when it comes to being up to date on the issues and being able to think critically (although that is becoming more rare on this board too) and the overall public has no clue on most issues.

if you want to know how most americans are out of touch.....go watch the town hall episode from designated survivor season 1. many on both sides think the president has this unlimited power.

they want him to do all these things that they feel will fix the issues they brought onto themselves with terrible descions.

in that episode a women says her x-BF killed her daughter with a gun and he was a felon and he shouldnt have been able to get one.

a) your the dumbass that made a terrible decision to bring him into your kids life. thats on you

b) the government cant stop a felon from getting a gun. people that are going to murder usually dont have regard for the laws.

another one says he was laid off at 50, he was a factory line worker and his job was replaced by robots, wants to know how the pres will bring his job back

another ask how he is going to stop drugs after she gives sob story of neice who ODs

its one thing after anotehr of people thinking its the governments job to fix things. the american voters are the same way. 80% atleast are frickign retarded on how our system works, what can and cant be done and the consequences to any legislation. dont get me started on the understand and lack of a stance on actual policy either.

And I loathe voters who pull the party lever for everyone without knowing a damn thing about the candidates.

Don't look now, but you're the ignorant one.

The reality, whether you like it or not, is whomever you vote for is going to go to DC and promptly vote with their party the vast majority of the time. If this weren't true, you might have a point.

Alas, you don't.

The strangest part to me about independent voters like this is it doesn't seem to matter how much democrats wreck their lives or fail, they still think democrats are a more "empathetic" party and they still view them favorably.

We’ve answered this enigma, liberalism is a mental disease. You could move this group to Venezuela for 5 years, bring them back to the US and they’d still vote Democrat.
