we had this thread. Mandani never blamed the cop. His idea to have better ways of dealing with the mentally ill than cops having to be called. Not a terrible idea.

There will be plenty of stupid shite to laugh at Mandani about over the next 4 years. This isn't one of them.

Stand back and watch it burn. I have no sympathy for anyone that still lives there. No care at all. They can get what they ask for. Only way anyone will learn.

The police arrest, the DA charges, the perp can plead NG by reason of insanity, and the court appointed psych doctors determine whether he is mentally fit to stand trial.

Sorry Mr. Mayor, you don’t get to diagnose and waive charges.

Are we talking about the current President that hasn't done anything unlawful but has had the entirety of law weaponized against him for 10 years? Or the last President that chose to not enforce half the laws on the books?

I think that was well established when he charged a cop with a large knife as are everyone that chooses to try to kill innocent people & cops
My question is: do people think mental illness is controllable?

so you think the system we currently have to deal with the mentally ill is the best we can do?

I don't know if Mandi plan will help or not. I think mental institutions should make a comeback in a big way. I'm sure the police get tired of going on calls dealing with the same crazy people and not actual criminals.

Who do you propose go and show up on the scene of someone armed and violent?

Your utopia doesn't exist and that has been proven time and time again where these folks run all over the system that repeatedly lets criminals go with hardly any repercussions for their actions

I will let you in on a little secret.....criminals know they can play the system by claiming mental illness or life is hard for them or whatever else excuse they make up. And they have activist judges and DAs letting them run rampant. I mean hell we just watched an activist judge reduce a violent offender's sentence in half yesterday just because of his skin color.

And now we have numbers coming back from where Trump sent in help to get the crime back under control and we have had record lows because of it.

Coddling and turning a blind eye is what has lead to the destruction of countless Dem run cities across the nation

The moral is, that cop needs more range time and learn better shot placement. Save us all a headache.

You are currently in the running for "Stupidest Motherfricker on the Planet". Attempted Capital Murder is a state statute, not a city ordinance. You must have gone to law school with SFP.
