Didn’t they already rule on this, saying lower courts can’t make sweeping national decisions?

ETA: this ruling only affects West Virginia, so SCOTUS’ ruling in Trump v. CASA does not apply. Get to work West Virginia.

Good. I just bought stock in a company that has developed a non-nutritive cereal varnish.

Once again, Obama and the deep state fundamentally changed this country alright. They may have doomed it as well, which was always their plan.

How does one federal judge have the power to override legislation signed into law by a governor?

This sounds like it's exactly what this is. Legislating from the bench.

Why should the government ban food products? Capitalism. Let the consumer decide what to purchase. Less government.

These activist judges need to be held accountable.

I don't know how we do this, but it MUST happen. They have made a mockery of the Judicial system...and getting rich from Soros.

Muh democracy is at stake if we ban artificial dyes!

I don't know anything about the case, but either him and the FDA have the legal authority to ban dyes using the process they used or they don't.

How logical or good the action is is irrelevant.

It's always the same story with these rulings. A judge blocks something that actually makes sense for public health just because of some technicality or corporate lobbying. We're way behind other countries on this stuff.

Big Dye obviously throwing their weight around.

Well, what else are they supposed to do with all that carcinogenic tartrazine (yellow 5) that they've been poisoning us with for decades?

Did you know that clothing manufacturers used to use it to color garments, but they ceased because it was ruled a dangerous chemical for human contact? But the FDA somehow found it fit for human consumption.

You cannot unsee this shite once your eyes have been opened.

that's a fricking stupid argument.

So it's ok to have poison in our food supply because consumers should be better educated to know to avoid them?

Hint: you can't avoid them right now.

I hear the lead industry is planning to add lead to our vitamins, paint and pencils. But it's ok the consumers can choose.

frick off.

sixth and baratone says it should be available in both products and let the consumers decide.

Now you know she’s a Count Chocula kinda girl.

For the poster who wants less government. How about qualified, accountable agencies, being paid to research and provide restrictions on the products to protect the people paying them.

Martial Law with cots in Guantanimo, along with a Constitutional Convention seems necessary.
