Not sure if people realize this, but the Electoral College is on the chopping block now

There are now enough Democrat controlled state government trifectas to enact what Colorado has previously passed… sending all their electoral votes from the party that wins the popular vote
They have the ability to gain 270 electoral votes through this and this will most certainly be a push to get through
SCOTUS may try to block it (who knows with Roberts and ACB) if they will
But this is absolutely the direction they want to head

3 or 4 new Dems up here are all yammering about killing it

Fear mongering. They don’t even need to do away with it to win. Republicans give it away to them. Electoral college isn’t going anywhere.

States have always had leeway in how they assign Electoral votes

The shooting starts at that point. We are only a country because the larger states couldn't control the union. Simple as that.

You are one of the TDS fools who is ignorant per usual. The SC interprets the Constitution. The two most conservative justices are close to retirement. They will not make it six more years through a Democratic presidency. They will be replaced by liberal justices. The liberal wing of the court will be the majority. A simple challenge to the constitutionality of the EC would simply have to make its way to the court and it would. The EC would then be deemed unconstitutional. Surely someone with your esteemed intellect can understand that pretty basic scenario

This is all Fun Bunch’s fault

What are you so afraid of? If Republican policies were truly working and resonating with voters, you wouldn’t be so worried about being outvoted. Maybe the issue isn’t the Electoral College, it’s the fear of having to win over the majority.

What is the reason for the electoral college?
Why were senators selected by states versus direct election?

What state legislatures flipped?

List all the Republican policies that aren’t working then list the Democrats policy ideas that have or will work. This should be good!

Well they may want to turn us into a tyranny. If they get the votes, what can you do? If this transpires, I hope it comes at high cost. Republican types seem to sit and take it. And I need to look at myself in the mirror.
Go Tigers!
Rush Limbaugh talked about this kind of stuff.

California, New York, and Illinois alone should not be able to determine the presidency by running up the score there.

Trump won the popular vote in 2024 so I’m not sure this has quite the allure as it did previously.

What percent of Republican Presidents won the popular vote? I suspect a minority.
What percent of Democrat Presidents lost the popular vote? I also suspect a minority.
While its not a guarantee to work in their favor, history has shown a policy like this would very likely work in their favor more often then not, which is why they're pushing it.

Not sure if you meant to phrase it like this, but 48 states already do this. It's called winner take all.

Yes but they should also be aware that Trump won the popular vote without stepping foot to campaign in Cali or NY or IL. If we used popular vote instead of EC all things would not be as they are now.

I'll admit it - the Left is far better than the Right at leading retards en-masse. That's why the EC is important.
