Maybe, maybe not. If Germany is prevented from firing up the coal plants (climate agenda) than they are screwed. IMHO this is the biggest event in the current war. This is how World Wars are started.

At last checking, the Russians are under no obligation to supply gas in NS or NS2.
Also the EU is attempting to bring LNG in from other countries such as Qatar to offset the Russian gas shortage.

Exactly. Why would they destroy the pipeline if they have full control of its distribution? It’s much more valuable as a bargaining chip.

In a roundabout sort of way, I'm in the pipeline biz. My guess is that the pumping stations were taken "offline" merely as a threat going forward. If you rememeber, the Russians were already limiting capacity on purpose to send a message so this is just a continuation of it.
Russia knows they have the EU by the balls, Qatar's doubling of capacity won't come online until 2025 so there is the here and now that needs to be tended to.
FWIW I'm not a Russian apologist as I detest what they are doing, but I do understand the business aspect of it.

It doesnt seem the bargaining chip for Russia hasnt done much so far. So i dont think the purpose was to remove the bargaining chip.
Globalist and likely USA blowing it up to keep Germany from pushing a peace deal with Ukraune, basically to keep Germany in line. Plus they will be weakened economically and will be blowing money on NG to keep the mass happy.
Now Russia may have destroyed it on purpose to inflict pain on EU for the winter. If Russia shutdown the NS2 intentionally and simply turned the spigot off, Russia would be blamed for the long deadly winter in GER. But if something happened to the NS2 by accident, you get the same affect but you can tell the world it wasnt intentional there was an accident or someone sabotaged it.
