I don't put my hand over my heart for the national anthem, does that mean I don't love my country?

I've only ever placed my hand over my heart for the pledge, always stand at attention for the National Anthem.
This. Hat off, eyes on the flag.

bullshite. When not wearing a cover, the proper salute is your right hand over your heart.

I don't know about this one.

I have a feeling he is not an anti-American activist type.
Yeah, I think he grew up in Germany with his dad in the Army. That's why he only played one year of high school football (Westbury High School in Houston).
Anyway, not getting outraged by a screencap of this.

That’s what I do, but is it what is taught?

Obfuscation in this Thread nws, Strahan will have to clear this up. Let him own and justify his action/non-action...respect or no respect, for that which his colleagues celebrate with hand over heart.
The days of walking the fence are over, as Media depicts one's action, and the polar contrast of opposing belief becomes starker. We'll all be forced to choose, sooner or later. God or no god, Jesus as Christ or not.

He and Ryan Clark should do a daytime talk show together that nobody watches.

Ironically, those men must not know what US Code says:
quote:
§171. Conduct during playing
During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart.

The proper thing is to salute the flag while the anthem plays. Hand over the heart is the civilian salute and showing proper respect for the Nation. If he does not he just shows lack of respect.

He's done stuff like this before. Prior to an Army/Navy football game, he hijacked a bass drum from a band member, and started shucking, prancing and jiving during an armed service march for our fallen military members. He's an a$#hole.
