They should receive tax breaks for this.

You're tired of being shat on for working hard and building my family a financially stable future so your plan is to vote Democrat?? Okay.

ETA: You seem smart enough so I'll assume you're just blowing off steam and will come to your senses by November.

It doesnt help the little old lady landlord who doesnt have a mortgage but uses the rental income + SS to survive.

What a shitty assumption to only help those with mortgages.

I tell you what will make for an unstable future, for you and your family: Millions of pissed of people tossed out in the streets. You won't like what happens after that.

subsidizing renters and landlords sounds a lot like communism

It’s a mistake. A lot of the people getting evicted weren’t going to vote for Trump either way. He’s just pissing off people who are going to vote for him.

It’s not a good look, but neither is throwing hundreds of thousands of families into the street because the government forced their businesses and jobs to close.

Yeah well what's the outlook for her if Trump's viewed as a heartless monster which results in a President Biden?

A lot of people, especially seniors, rely on rental income to make ends meet. I understand the difficult situation everyone is in but there are a lot of people who own one or two rental properties to pay their own bills. And other rents pay the note on the rental property. Will the mortgage lender suspend foreclosure?

I think Trump believes his EO's are going to be challenged by the Democrats. Were the democrats to challenge the eviction halt, their base would be infuriated! He is basically daring the Democrats to do something about these EO's. If they fight them, then he has his talking points, and it will be a bloodbath. I think it may upset some landlords....but do you honestly believe they would vote for Biden over it and risk making evictions damn near impossible? Strategically sound move. 4 D chess.

Serious question because I don't know, but would the referenced seniors be operating a small business that would be or would have been eligible for federal financial assistance?

I could see telling banks or lending institutions that they cannot evict or foreclose....but to tell an individual landlord with a signed lease agreement that he cannot evict?

What is he has another tenant on the waitlist that can actually pay?

government bailouts ahead

Yes, that is clearly going to happen. Every one of us has to accept the fact, that we are trying to avoid total chaos. We are closer to the brink, than I think most people are willing to accept. If you are in favor of that happening, then carry on, but I am just saying what the government is trying to avoid.

I think it was a brilliant move. It probably isn't legal, so when the Democrats sue, Trump has a great campaign commercial.

What if I have a bunch of people that would come to my bar at 12am to drink all night?

What if what if

Congress made him choose squeezing landlords until something can be figured out or dumping millions into the streets.

Everyone is going to eat shite on this that was a net contributor.

Pretty dumb to be sitting in a paid for property with historically low interest rates. That’s just beyond stupid. She should be putting that money to work for herself in her old age.

Worse part is he has set the table for way worse abuses of power in the future. What's next property tax exemptions for lower incomes or caps on rental fees?
