Imagine living in a country that is so racist that millions of white people will purchase expensive tickets to games/watch on TV a league whose teams are PREDOMINANTLY comprised of black men. Black men who are paid yearly salaries greater than 99.9% of the country, regardless of race.
Gosh, I wonder what the NFL would be like if the US wasn't so racist?
I think the NFL is about to find out that once you unnecessarily force people to go without sports...they learn they can go without sports. Thus, it doesn't really take much will power anymore to simply tune out. We've been doing it for 6 months anyway

This is waaaaaaay better than the NBA jerseys. These are just platitudes, so who cares?

I wouldn’t have seen if they had of done it last year.

Member that time ratings tanked after the Kaep Attack took the league by storm? Member how you and your pals gave every excuse in the book to obfuscate that which was staring you in the face?
I am looking forward to your same excuses when it happens again

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/29765570/sources-nfl-planning-extensive-racial-injustice-content-week-1-season
quote:
Among options discussed by the league and players union, according to a source involved: Players reading personalized poems and delivering first-person vignettes based on experience with social injustice. These stories could be incorporated into game-day broadcasts.
This is in addition to recognizing victims of police brutality on the backs of helmets and playing or performing what's known as the Black national anthem, "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," before the season-opening games, as ESPN senior NFL writer Jason Reid reported in July.
quote:
On game days, players have the option to wear the helmet decals honoring the victims of systemic racism, and the league will provide a list of names and short biographical information to help guide decision-making.
Coaches can honor victims by wearing patches on their hats if they choose.

You can't end racism without Jesus...
Racism has always been...
Too much coverage for 13% of population...

How about instead of playing football, we just have the players reading stories of injustice for three hours?
Ratings would go through the roof!

I wouldn't call those blm phrases. There's a lot of things pro leagues are doing that I don't like, but that's not one that would keep me away. It's all the other crap that has kept sports off my TV.
The phrases Rush mentioned yesterday, that he was made aware of, were far more inflammatory than those two ones listed here.

Didn't the MSB stop watching ESPN in roughly 2016 but yet has constant updates bitching about what is on ESPN.

I hope the eventual crash is hard and painful

Welp. Good luck to them.

They do that crap and I will not watch nor will I purchase anything team related. Hell I may even burn the few saints shirts I own.
