Will this be more or less annoying than the Wakanda crap?

If early reviews are any indication even the wokists think it sucks, so probably less annoying.

A movie about the female army rising up against corrupt rulership intent on enslaving captives for sale to foreigners would have been a much better movie. (Even if it were equally false)

Exactly

I agree with you, but at least it’s not Bridgerton or The Great, shows where black, brown and Asian people are active participants in 17th-18th European society.

Haven't seen Bridgerton, but The Great makes a major point of letting the viewer know it's not a serious show. I would compare it to that Heath Ledger knight movie; I don't think anybody believes they were dancing to David Bowie in medieval England. I doubt the tsar said "frick off" 100 times a day or that she allowed people to joke about the horse rumors(?) and keep their head.

I hadn't heard of this movie until yesterday. This came up in a search:

quote:

By 1823, the kingdom of Dahomey was under the thumb of the Western-influenced, richer Oyo empire. It was forced to pay tribute in the form of virgins, guns and captives to be sold into slavery to European colonizers.......

“She said, ‘Can you imagine if one day we actually made a movie about this amazing group of female soldiers who caused such an act of resistance that slavery paused for a time?’” recalled Schulman, who was then an executive at STX Entertainment.

So these people are either ignorant or they're actively trying to sell this as somewhat historically accurate.

The lemmings will believe it is historically accurate and that is all that matters to them...

Only 30 reviews so far but it is 100% on RottenTomatoes. Reviewers are going to be terrified to give this movie a negative review. Anybody that does will be canceled and doxxed by the left.

100% called racist. Critics are useless. I bet RT turns off viewer score.

I can't remember what I was watching, but this trailer was in the previews and another trailer for a movie center around a gay, white male couple too. Well, there's two things I won't waste my time with.

There you go again - using logic.

Don't you know that this "logic" thingy was invented by white supremacists to subjugate minorities??? They also use something called "facts" a lot - you know who they are when you hear any of that racist shite..

Rotten Tomatoes is controlled by art-house homos. It has a 3.4 on IMDB. That's rough. You've got to work to get below a 5 there.

Hopefully not, because any person making that statement would be as utterly ill-informed as those claiming that ancestors of African Americans built the pyramids.

Yeah, the Ptolemy dynasty was Greek. They (along with Alexander) conquered Egypt about 2000 years after the Egyptians started doing math and building pyramids.

You will probably point to Rameses II and say “he was a ginger,” but he was born about 1500 years after completion of the last of the Great Pyramids, and even he was hardly “caucasian” by today’s standards.

The first pyramids were built much further south on the Nile by completely different people some 12 dynasties earlier. They certainly were not “black as coal” like modern Bantu or Nilotic peoples. The near-consensus is that they most-closely resembled some modern Ethiopians, Somalis or northern Sudanese.

Please share your views on the historical accuracy of the architecture, armor, and society depicted in this important film regarding an historical Celtic Briton figure from approximately the sixth century.
