Is it about inconvenience?
You could say that, but IMO it's deeper and more profound than that.
It's a rejection of ontology—just like transgenderism.
It's a compete rejection of the acceptance of basic responsibility.
It's feminism.
Men can walk away from an unwanted pregnancy (only not really, because the law won't let them, at least financially), so we should be able to as well.
They overwhelmingly do it on principle, not practicality. The practicality angle is just a campaign sogan for the overwhelming majority of cases.

Young (Gen Z) women are least interested in children. This is the result of the communists directly undermining our young women and reprogramming their priorities where they should naturally be. This is how you destroy the creation of nuclear families and thus the foundation of civilization.

States rights.
And
I don’t know why people, especially those who don’t live there, would have a problem with this
And

In 2022, voters in the state overwhelmingly passed a constitutional amendment to allocate a portion of the state’s Land Grant Permanent Fund, which is largely funded by taxes on oil and gas, toward funding early childhood and public school education.

Nobody said they shouldn't be allowed to do it.
But being allowed to do it and it being a good idea are two very different things.

Then you don't understand the concept of federalism. The idea of leaving most decisions to each state is that it produces a testing ground for ideas.
Citizens can have opinions on those ideas and it's kind of important to express those opinions lest you find that idea wandering into your own state, or becoming something that some idiot Democrat wants to implement on a federal level. Like the ACA.

Good!
New Mexico came up with a bill, put it on the ballot, and the people of the state voted on it.
This is a state funded early childhood education program. This is supposed to be what all the people here who profess to be in favor of the Department of Education being defunded and killed off want, state control of education. You may not like it, you may not agree with it, but it is a state determining what it believes is best for its children.
That is what you want, unless............it really isn't.

One of the poorest and moonbat states and they find money to give away.

I wouldn't send my baby to a free child care center.

What is the definition of a "child" under this bill? Any guesses as to how many young looking 17-18+ year olds try to ger free treatment? "Kids" are going to come out of the wood works.

I realize that the loud narrative is that the babykilling is about finances, but it's not.

Very dangerous precedent!
Why? It their state....its their voters deciding how their
tax dollars will be spent. They've decided to enact what they consider to be a pro family initiative. If it works for them....what the problem?

Another step toward the nanny state raising, and indoctrinating, your children.
You mean going to school? What do you want ? Everyone to be homeschooled?

As long as it’s a credit or tax rebate and not a government run daycare, I support this

Ah, the government is coming to help. It would be a disaster especially around here. We have several threads about "culture issues" and those same people would be raising your children

One of my cousins is annoying on this subject. She has a GED and a few kids and she swears that she and her peers could do great things in the workforce....
You know.....if you give them like $55,000 annually in various childcare, food and other subsidies.

Posted on 9/10/25 at 12:27 pm to conservativewifeymom
with all the data coming out showing how toxic daycare environment is for kids, this is idiotic.
Posted on 9/10/25 at 12:29 pm to conservativewifeymom
