You claim to live in Harris County and follow politics yet you don’t know the last challenger for the county judge seat?

If that's reliable polling, then that's a dire sign for Ken Paxton. Texas-09 represents a district (mostly in Northern Brazoria County, Northern Galveston County and far Southeastern Harris County) --- a very conservative and Republican district. Trump won it by 20 points in 2024. If he's only leading by 1 in what should be a slam-dunk regional race, then he's getting shellacked statewide.

I suppose there could always be a first time you were proven right about something.

I don’t believe this will be the thing to mark that notable milestone.

It's a poll in one congressional district. That district was Trump +20 in 2024. Paxton is up by one. I literally cannot understand how people could say, or claim to believe, that is a good sign for Paxton.

Did they poll people at random, did they an equal number of Dems and Pubs, or exactly what were the demographics of who they polled?

The fact that Paxton leads by just 1 in the district looks like curtains for a statewide campaign.

If that poll is legit, you’re correct.

Alex Mealer’s run for several political positions over the past half decade, it seems. I do think she means well.

Mattress Mack was a big supporter of hers a few years ago when she challenged Dora the Explorer for Harris County Judge.

Isn't this Al Green's district?

Then how exactly did Al Green win TX 09 with 76% in '24??

Paxton is leading in a district won bigly by Al Frikkin' Green. And before you admit that its a brand new district, Trump could not have won in by 20% if it didnt exist in its current form

Youre just a lyin' ballot stealing DIM idiot

Paxton isn’t losing. You will pretend you never said he would lose.

That district apparently got redrawn and will have redder boundaries from about 2027-2033.

Within the 2023-2027 boundaries, in 2024, Harris received 71% of the vote and Allred 73%.

Within the apparent 2027-2033 boundaries, Trump received 59% in ‘24 and Cruz 54%.

LINK

In fact, Al Green ran as the “incumbent”, and lost to Christian Menefee in the Dem primary, in the 18th Congressional district after he was drawn out of the 9th.

What is TX 09’s demographics?

Trump +20 in the last election

This poll has it Paxton +1

I need you to acknowledge that you understand those two facts.

Okay, a democrat poll that will almost always favor and be more heavily skewed toward democrats still has Paxton ahead. Can you acknowledge that?

So it is his district? I thought it was.

So when the Texas state legislature, dominated by Republicans, redrew congressional boundaries at the request of Trump, the boundaries were redrawn .
The district number that someone ran in in 24 will not necessarily be the district number that they run in 26 because the lines were changed

CD 9 was in SW Harris County, very urban, very d
Now it's East Harris County and Liberty County; Liberty is very Republican
It is totally a different district by demographics; it's just the number designation; CD09 is the same

But the boundaries and the demographics are completely different from 2024

That's what happens in redistricting

Looks like this is one of those newly drawn district boundaries that Texas redrew last year.
